Default Left in the dust by my Husband.

Anyone else here doing the whole weight loss journey with your husband? He eats way worse than I do, gets less exercise than I do, and its just dropping off of him. I know its normal for men to lose easier than women, but its not fair!! Almost discouraging. Soon hes going to pass me up!! uggh Damn genetics.

Can you focus on celebrating your husband's success? You want him to be healthier, right? Sure, gender differences are unfair, he can pee standing up and never has a period. This is just another one of those things.

It is completely outside of your control and HIS control, you can be grouchy about it and potentially sabotage your own and maybe his efforts (if he picks up on how you feel and feels guilty and maybe slows down).

Or you can get over it and be the loving cheerleader he needs (and you would want him to be for you).

Who cares how much faster he loses weight, if you both eventually get to the finish line, a healthier, slimmer, more energetic couple?

Trust me, I know where you are coming from. My bf doesnt track calories, exercises when he feels like it, drinks..basically things that make me gain.. and he loses.

I've realized men and women are different and it's just something that happens. I am so happy he's getting healthier. Men also have a higher calorie allowance than we do because of the amount of muscle they have. My bf can lose 2-3 lbs on 1800 calories.

Don't let this effect you. It's a personal journey!

I actually have the opposite problem, I lose weight very fast but my husband doesn't. For some people it is genetics, but it can also be a case of proportions (ie. he may eat a lot more than you, but he might require even more than that to maintain, so he loses). Anyways, the reason I responded was because you said "he's going to pass me up"... Please don't feel bad about this!! I'm sure he is very proud of you, especially persevering when it seems like you are getting the rough end of the deal

My husband and I both weighed 200 pounds on the scale this morning. We've both been losing weight for 2 years, and have lost approximately the same amount; but while I do it by being extremely careful and conscious about my diet, exercise, sleep, etc., he does it seemingly by just willing it to happen. Which is not to say he hasn't made big changes himself, based on my example--but the fact is that he loses weight when I work at losing weight. (It's kind of like I do all the work but only get half the weight loss, he gets the other half for free )

But I'm not resentful or envious of him. In fact, I love giving him suggestions on how to speed up his loss or get the most out of his workouts. And I'll be designing a workout program for him to follow this summer--he's a naturally muscular guy and when he does strength training the results are to swoon for!

I'm honestly thrilled to be benefiting doubly...a sexier me, a sexier husband. And yes, I take ALL the credit for his loss, too!

I lose weight faster than my husband too. The poor guy has to cut his calories to rock bottom levels and avoid processed carbs altogether in order to lose a couple of pounds a month.

My boyfriend lost 6 pounds this past week. I gained 1.
Sure it sucks, sure I wish I lost like he did.

I called him a jerk (while laughing) and gave him a kiss. It's not his fault he loses easier then I do, it sucks - but that's life, right? I really try my hardest not to let it get me down.

Lol! Those men! They "cut back on beer" and lose 20 lbs. If only! I think it has to do with Testosterone. I guess all we can do is be happy for them and keep working at ourselves.

Aren't you happy for him? Less sobbing for you, more cheering for him.
