Talking Back from camping...

and I am very pleased with myself.

Did a quick scale check this morning... 198.8. Yep... plateau still intact. Yay.

lol!!!

really closely monitered the junk and the SODIUM. Drank TONS of water and avoided alcohol. Went for thrice daily LONG LONG LONG walk/jogs with the dogs and didn't sit down for more than 5 minutes until we hit the cabin at about 11 pm every night.

I'm quite proud.

Even if I am "maintaining" aka "plateauing"

that's my update

Welcome back and congrats for sticking to your plan even though you've hit a plateau. I know it would be sooo easy for me to slide back into old habits if the success isn't showing on the scale. It's doubly hard to be consistent when away from home. Sounds like you had a great time!!

Good for you!!! It's hard to maintain during vacation!

Can I ask what types of food you ate? We're going camping in two weeks & I'm a little nervous about it. We're tent camping, but will have a grill & portable stove top. TIA

Good for you! I'm glad you had a good time! And I can't believe how well you're taking the plateau. That really, really sucks. I guess now is the time to really reflect on how far you've come, what you can do now that you couldn't before and just how much easier life is.

It is awesome to maintain while on a trip or vacation. Call it what you like - it's a winner! Good for you.

That's great! We are also going camping soon and I would love to hear what you ate and how you managed.

I took tons of fruits and veggies (we rented a cabin with a fridge and stove) We grilled extra lean hamburgers, chicken breasts and low sodium hot dogs. I bought low sodium sandwich meats and lots of salad fixings. I ate a small amount of sweets (smores) but just a measured amount. I stayed AWAY from the chips etc and ate plain popcorn for treats and measured amounts of peanuts in the shell. I drank TONS of water and stayed away from hot chocolate/pop/juice. I drank lots of hot unsweetened tea.

I basically ate the same as I do at home. Just there. And was REALLY really freaking disciplined. I'm coming to terms with this plateau and honestly? I'm taking what someone said to me to heart. I've lost 180 pounds. Why on EARTH would I beat my body up for taking a break? I'm coming to terms with it... it will go. It has to. And soon here I'll beat it into submission... but for now? I'm going with it

You are doing fantastic, even away from home. I sure do like your willpower. Great efforts you are making!

I just know what that's like...to be on plan and working really hard and not seeing any results. The mind takes a beating.

Know that we know you're doing everything right!

You did a GREAT job staying on plan. And while I can sympathize with the frustration with the scale not moving, I know that at some point, your body will adjust to the fact that you've lost 180 pounds and be ready to lose again. Hang in there!!
