Pounds of Pressure You Have Lost
Did you know that for every pound you lose, you relieve 1.5 pounds of pressure on your feet while walking?
Did you know that for every pound you lose, you relieve 4 pounds of pressure on your knees while running?
How many pounds of pressure have you relieved off your feet or knees?
I have relieved my feet of 130 pounds of pressure so far (87 pounds x 1.5), which is very helpful for my practice of standing at my computer while working. This also means I can wear 2 to 3 inch heels with little trouble while standing all day, providing the shoes are well-made for my needs.
I am looking forward to losing more weight and taking another 60 pounds or so of pressure off my feet for standing/walking.

Hmmm... let's see.
Walking: Relieved 75 lbs of pressure.
Running: Relieved 200 lbs of pressure. Whoa! That's a lot.

Wow. 69 pounds of pressure off walking, 180 off running. Well, that explains why I couldn't run at 235 lbs. It also explains why I feel so light at this weight!

excellent information. For me, it is 60 pounds walking on feet, and 160 on knees running (if I could run).

This is interesting... something I did not know and thanks for sharing. For me, this means 360 lbs of pressure relieved while walking. Makes me wonder how I ever got around as much as I did before, and also makes sense that how even after about 40 lbs lost, while still weighing about 400 lbs, there was significant reduction in foot and knee pain.

Oooh, figures! I love stuff like this.
Let's see, I have relieved 139 lbs and running 372 lbs. Not that I could run when I was at my top weight - but I do now!

Thanks for sharing this...I heard the numbers several years ago when I weighed lots more. My knees were bothering me sooo much and it gave me hope. Now I did get orthodics, but I am totally amazed that I don't have my knee problems anymore. Hmm 84x1.5=126 less pounds of pressure....reason to keep going!

12 pounds of pressure off my feet. I can't wait to wear high heels again and cute slip ons with heels instead of my Dr. Scholl's tennis shoes or plain old flat flip flops.
