Default Question about Chalean Extreme

Does this workout make you gain weight? I would think it would because of all the muscle. Or do you still lose weight?

Hey if you gain muscle weight temporarily who cares! You will have a higher metabolism and smaller percentage body fat in the long run. And likely you'd burn more fat than gain muscle if you arent over eating. I don't know the specifics of this workout at all. But muscle gain is always good. And unless your lifting crazy and taking protien supplements and REALLY trying to get big with muscle, you dont have to worry about gaining more muscle than you want.

Im on the 3rd month of CLX, and I LOVE IT! I haven't gained any weight but I also haven't dropped any weigh, however that being said I have gone down a size just from toning up. I recommend it!

I've lost about 8 pounds, and this is my third week, but I add extra cardio because that has always been the best way for me to lose weight. So far in three weeks I have lost 4.5 inches in my waist, 1 inch in my chest, 1 inch in each of my thighs, and 1.5 inches in my saddlebag area. I recommend adding cardio to the program because what Chalean has is the bear minimum and she has said online that most of her success stories added cardio, which could include Turbojam.

I try to do cardio at least 5 times a week for 60 minutes, but I do count the 45 minutes of Burn Intervals as a day of cardio. I have a friend that also started CLX at the same time that I did, and she has lost 15 pounds and 10 inches. However, she does A LOT of cardio. I'm talking she does Burn Intervals twice a week and runs 4 miles per day every day of the week. Oh, and she also integrates Brazil Butt Lift on the days she does the circuits. I wouldn't recommend that much cardio because just 5 times per week for 60 minutes can be tiring.

Btw, there is a Chalean Extreme group on Facebook, and there are several people that can answer questions about the program including Beachbody coaches and people who have done multiple rounds.

I also agree with Squishy. I do the C25k along with the CLX program because its mainly all strength training.

Well, be happy if you gain some muscle. You'll what we're talking about. I lost 17 pounds and 17 inches using this program. I did with Turbo Jam to get the best results. I strongly recommend this if you want to lose weight, drop your body fat and see some muscle definition. When you see your biceps.. ah... you will love yourself for doing this.

I am wanting to lose at least 30 pounds and get my blood sugar regulated before trying to get pregnant. I've read that weight training is great for your blood sugar.

I would like to eventually be doing cardio in the morning plus the Chalean extreme workouts later in the day.
Where do I start?

I am a total beginner. I haven't worked out in a long time.
Should I start doing some cardio to shape up a little? Or do the chalean extreme first and then add cardio later?
For cardio, I'm not sure what to do. Here are my choices- walking in my neighborhood (although that will change when winter comes again), joining a gym just for the cardio equipment (which I can change up) , or walk away the pounds videos (which I have).

I'm really wanting to get in shape and get healthier. Any advice on where to start?

Get chalean and start doing it you will build as you go there are two cardio dvds that come with it INTREVALS and BURN IT off you could throw them in a couple extra times a week and yes walking is great but just STARTING with CHALEN will help you.
