Arrow New... trying to get started..

Hello all. I am in the start of really trying to lose the weight, I just moved to S. Korea about a week ago. Now is the time for me to finally get back to an ok size! I am starting at this fourm weighing in at 260, and my first goal is to get to 240, hopfully by the end of May. My workouts will include walking, cardio, yoga, and old fashioned things like sit ups and push ups.

I have always been big, but last year I was sick, I had an ovairan cyst, which has been removed, but I put on A LOT of weight - almost like a pregnacy just due to the size of the cyst. So in that regard, I will accept any tips that someone has that will make this any eaiser than it has been... which has been not very....

Ok well thank you to whoever reads this, and please feel free to help!

Hi there!

Your workout plan sounds great. What plan do you have in place for your eating? Eating is, for me, VERY important in weight loss. Exercise is wonderful health-wise, and is a great boost to losing weight, but it can't get you there alone.

Have you considered counting calories or some other way to track your food intake?

Hey! I'm in South Korea too - this is my 3rd year. It's so good that you've made this resolution. My 1st year in SK was sooo hard. I gained 20 pounds just because I was often too lazy to cook or really, really homesick. In August 2009 I decided to take control, count calories and up my workout intenisty. And those 20 pounds and more just fell off. And here I am fitter, stronger and thinner than I've ever been. And it helps that I've developed a love for Korean food - much of it is really healthy!

Myadvice is to track every bite. I ate healthily and exercised loads in my 1st year but gained all that weight because I ate too much. Good luck on your journey and keep us all updated. We're all rooting for you

Oh gosh... I didn't include it here... but on some other into posts... yes! I am counting daily intake, shooting for under 1500 cals a day; and I track them at FatSecret

I was trying for >2000 a day, but then I figured it would take forever!

Uhg! I haven't found anything good... I have been eating at home, and at the food courts on base! I am a vegetarian though, so it is always rougher for me... where are you at?
