So the place I work is having its 100th anniversary tomorrow, complete with a big, 100-piece+ half vanilla, half chocolate sheet cake, sugary punch, coffee and cookies (sugar-free, flourless peanut butter and oatmeal chocolate chip - that I'M making). And as if that's not hard enough, we can't leave for lunch because it's an all day, come-and-go reception, so the other three people in the office are ordering pizza. Wonderful. They'll be snacking on pizza with cookies and cake up front.
Did you pack food to keep in your desk while on lockdown?
Sometimes I just make ANY of the food NOT AN OPTION. I'd pull out a cookie or two if I wanted one, since you made them and you know their nutritionals, set those away from the buffet and in my desk, and otherwise declare the food OFF LIMITS.
Definitely pack snacks! And a lunch! I like the idea of allowing a few of the cookies you made, so you can still enjoy the celebration. But I'd make sure to have my own stuff in my desk so that you don't HAVE to eat any of it. Good luck!!
I'm pretty sure I'm allowed one...maybe TWO of the sugar-free, flourless PB cookies. Other than that, I'm bringing something for the microwave, plenty of water and hunkering down in my office as much as possible, far away from the cake.
Bakery sheet cake . . . damn, that's a hard one. I bake homemade all the time but I do loves me a good bakery cake.
Don't go near it, don't even look at it. It's not worth it, it's just one day and when the day is over you can walk outta that office knowing you resisted . . . and you will feel faaabulous!!
