Default Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sammiches

My grocery store has them on sale this week, 2 pkgs for $5.00 which is close to 1/2 the price of even the walmart super store. I've seen them, but never, ever wanted to try anything that says "skinny" on the label...not since I tried the very first batch of fat free mayo ever made and thought I would rather die a slow torturous death than ever do THAT again.

So...I think I heard some of the folks on here talking about them and the flavors have great names and I've been jonesing for pb and chocolate. And on sale...I bought 8 pkgs of them in different flavors, and just tried one. WOW! I'm discovering that the new "diet food" is so much better than the old diet food used to be.

Yaay for skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. I got mine at Albertsons. I will probably buy some more next Tuesday before they are not on sale anymore. Thanksfully, I am usually able to eat just one of something, especially if it's just the kind of thing I wanted, and leave the rest alone until they come back around on my plan again.

They really are great. The totally satisfy an ice cream craving in a way that a half cup of sugar free fat free ice cream doesn't!

Yup. I looked at the diet ice cream and decided it wasn't worth opening the carton for 1/2 cup and it wasn't worth anything else to eat enough to blow my plan out of the water. I am SO GLAD I discovered those sammies and that they're good. Feels like a real snack!

I love them. Albertson's has that sale fairly regularly (I wouldn't buy them otherwise--I think the normal price is like $5.99 a package), so keep your eye out if you like them.

I do have to say, though, that the Skinny Cow mascot was an error in judgment on their part, LOL. Emaciated looking livestock make me think of 4D meat.

Cool! Thanks for letting me know that they put them on sale often. I've never noticed cause I never looked. They are good enough that I would eat them by choice even if regular ice cream was an option.

What is 4D livestock?

I've had these when I wasn't on a diet and thought they were awful, but I picked up a package the other night to try again and I thought they were divine! Thank goodness for changing taste buds.

There are other flavors?! The stores around here only carry chocolate and vanilla but, yes, they are fantastic.

My other favorite brand for ice cream cravings is Turkey Hill. They make dozens of flavors and it's always much lighter compared to other regular ice cream brands. I think they make their ice cream Philadelphia Style and rarely use HFCS so that may be why. Too bad I can only find it when in Pennsylvania.

But hurray for good companies!

Dead, downer, diseased, or dying. Legally considered unfit for human consumption, they get sent to rendering plants for pet food.

Oh god I love skinny cows. So much. I get ice cream, cookie, and my chocolate fix in a convenient portion controlled serving. They're nummy! I eat one nearly every day as desert.

And there's loads of flavors. What I've seen so far is: vanilla, chocolate, mint, cookies n cream, peanut butter chocolate, strawberry shortcake (I think, strawberry something), and lower sugar vanilla.

I picked up a package yesterday at the grocery store for the first time. I've seen them before but always leaned towards the WW ice cream bars. But I got the mint ice cream w/chocolate on top and they were absolutely delicious.

I grabbed a package of the mint cause I was looking for something low-cal that was sweet, horrible sweet tooth issues, lol. I had a few extra calories and put a little light whipped cream, it was better than a sundae
I was surprised that they had a good taste to them and not some light plastic-y taste like the old 'diet' foods. When I go the store again I will grab a few more flavors.

I was going to pick these up the other day to try them until I look at the ingredients. All the sandwiches I saw, all had high fructose corn syrup.

Personally (and this is just ME)... anything with the words "high fructose corn syrup", "shortening", or "partially hydrogenated oil" will automatically be put back on the shelf..it's a shame too, because they have so little cals (150 I think) and they looked good. I know one wouldn't hurt me, but ahh..I just couldn't do it.
