Well yesterday I weighed in at 176.2. I thought there was no way I was losing 1.2 by today and so figured that I was not going to make February's weight goal of 175. So when my boyfriend wanted pizza for lunch I figured that as long as I kept the calories down, the sodium wouldn't matter since I wasn't going to make it anyhow. Today I get on the scale expecting to be up from the pizza and I'm down to 175. I did make goal for the month and I'm down 70 pounds total. I feel a bit guilty for not being punished at all for the pizza though. To top it all off, hubby was 175 today too, so we're dead even and I will be below him very soon and it won't be on a technicality this time.
That is awesome! I have done the same thing thinking the pizza would bite me in the butt the next day, and it didn't. You did right watching the calories, so there should be no guilt involved whatsoever! Pat yourself on the back, girl - you are doing great!
A piece of pizza can be a healthy diet food as long as you don't put greasy meat (like pepperoni) and get a thin crust. I try not to eat it very often, but when I do I load mine up with veggies!
Don't feel guilty, just celebrate the sucess. Besides, we all know the scale is just a number, a tool it does not tell us everything that is going on in our body. Just think soon you will weigh less than your DH. I can only dream of that since DH and I are the same height.
Congrats! As long as you weren't over your calories a little treat every now and then is good...maybe the woosh was your body saying thanks, lol. Way to go & keep up the great work!!!
Husband weighs 175 but whats the Boyfriend who wanted pizza weigh? LOL Congrats on the success I can wait to see 175 too. Way to go balancing real life and weightloss!
Congrats on 70 lbs, that's a wonderful accomplishment!!!
And no need to feel "guilty" - weight loss is never completely straight forward, and you happened to eat some pizza when your body happened to be ready to hit that 70 lb mark. It's just as likely that you'll hit 75 lbs after eating a big salad or something, but you won't associate those two things in your mind.
Congratulations on the loss!!! Don't feel guilty! Changing our lifestyle to lose weight has to be something we can do forever. If I had to give up some of the foods I loved it's not something I could do forever and would surely fail. There is certainly no reason to feel guilty especially since it sounds like you didn't go overboard and actually paid attention to what you ate! Good job!!!
Thanks guys. I'm feeling less guilty. I did do my best, we ordered veggie pizza for me. I shouldn't let myself be a slave to the weight loss thing, I know.
Nikki - He says he's about 180, but I'd guess closer to 190.
It's weird, but the same thing happens to me! When I try to go all strict and stay even on my calories throughout the entire week, I'll nearly stall or lose so slowly I'll be gnashing my teeth in consternation. BUT, if I go out and have one meal of fast food or a big hefty meal once a week... I'll usually lose by the next day! I'm figuring it's gotta rev the metabolism or something when you typically eat healthy and then go off of it. Not sure to what weight that'll last, but so far it's been like that for me the entire time!
