Default I need lunch help!

Ok calorie counters..... I'm eating out today and the restaurant does NOT have nutrition information available. I'm considering the following (fortunately their menu is posted online):

Grilled Shrimp Salad
Endive, pineapple, avocado, grapes, sun dried tomato & lemon vinaigrette

Crab & Shrimp stuffed Avocado Salad
Over spinach and endive with sweet peppers In a mandarin sesame vinaigrette

Grilled Chicken and Apple Sandwich
arugula, brie, mango vinaigrette

Grilled Skirt Steak Sandwich
pico de gallo, chipotle mayo, spinach

I assume that the sandwiches come with fries, but I'd ask for a salad instead. Which one do you think is the healthiest/lowest calorie option? I want to enjoy my lunch but I also don't want it to be thousands of calories! Both salads sound delicious but I'm HUNGRY and I don't want to be hungry 10 minutes after I'm done.

Thanks!!!

i would think the shrimp salad is your best bet with the dressing on the side.

I'd go with the skirt steak sammy, no mayo (or on the side)- because it sounds good!

I'd also go with the shrimp salad, but make sure there is not too much advocado on it. Although advocado is a good and healthy fat, there are a lot of calories in them. I would also get the dressing on the side and do the dip your fork trick. Good luck!

I hate to be a downer here, but my experience is that restaurant meals can be shocking in their calorie counts, often the salads are far higher than we imagine. I sat myself down one day, wrote down the restaurants that I might visit someday and figured out the best selections by looking up website menus and using known counts for typical meals. It was a shocking discovery and I am so glad I did it. I now carry a list of restaurants and possible selections at each so that I can be sure I stay on my eating plan.

Curious....what did you choose?
