How do you deal? A low-carb diet doesn't incorporate much in the way of fiber, especially from cereals and other grains. Sometimes sluggishness can be a big issue. How do you keep yourself regular?
Are you eating plenty of veggies? Honestly you can get plenty of fiber on a low carb diet if you eat them Especially if you use of of the plans that subtracts fiber to get the carb count.
I've never needed to use it but many people seem to take a the fiber supplements you mix with water with sucess.
I don't want to weigh myself until this temporary condition passes. I'd like something more accurate to put on my record. I'm glad for the information.
PS: I guess I shoulda googled to begin with. I found this article, helpful to me, and might be helpful to someone else who comes along with the same question.
I eat more veggies than meat by volume on low carb. I'm pretty regular-- no wheat, beans or anything like that-- but things like cabbage, brussle sprouts, carrots.
I absolutely love cabbage and brussels sprouts. Not fond of the gas they cause, but I suppose that can be dealt with. I also love asparagus, turnips, and cucumbers, radishes, and cauliflower. Which makes me think. Definitely going to pack a healthy lunch for myself today.... Gotta stave off a possible urge to binge.
Flax seed meal works for me. Can be cooked like a cereal or simply added to foods. I often mixed ground nuts to the flaxseed meal for a breading for fish or a topping for full fat plain yogurt.
It took a bit for my body to adjust but I am way more regular now that my body has adjusted to this method of eating than I was before I started. Hopefully it is temporary for you.
