January Exercise Challenge
It's January, we all love a fresh start and a new beginning so let this be yours. To our returning ladies so glad you're back and keeping it up right through the holiday season.
To those of you who would like to join in....please feel free. All are welcome and we are here to post our minutes/goals to hold ourselves accountable and to help support and encourage one another.
We all have various goals and different fitness levels, there is no wrong or right here whether it be 10 min. a day or walk 3x a week, etc. We tailor our workouts according to our own best individual needs. The girls here rock and are very supportive so if you should be just starting out don't hesitate .
Exercise goals will be listed listed here, while weight loss goals, etc. will be listed in our sister thread, "January Weight Loss Challenge".

Thanks so much MelO, I will certainly attest to that, it can be done and in a healthy way with no gimics or craziness, just good old fashioned hard work and a marvelous group of ladies here. Glad to have you aboard!

Prairie Chick - that sounds great, I will list your goals just like that. I was right there 7 months ago, at 223lbs and thinking I would have a heart attack if I tried anything strenuous. You can totally do this and any help you need just let us know, there's a host of ladies here and in the weight loss thread that have gone from couch potato to athlete so there's some experience on that journey to help you out. I saw that you found the weight loss thread

Tummy Girl, you have an amazing job! I see all the exercise you do, which is incredible. May I ask how what you do about food? Calories? Any tips?

A fresh new start! Love January 1, and am determined to get off my rear once and for all, and to carve away some of this excess baggage while enjoying working out! Want to do the Tampa 15k Gasparilla race on Feb 27 (though I'll power walk it because of achilles tendon issues) so I've got to move it at least 4x a week until then. My goal:
Walk a minimum of 4x a week, starting with 2 mi. briskly and adding a mile a week.
Lift weights/tone at least 2x a week
Stretch really well every day I exercise to help prevent injuries.
Now to the weight loss thread to set goals in that area! Good luck to everyone... this is the year we're really going to pull it together once and for all, I can just feel it!!
Diane
