Default Endorphins. Wow!

I just wanted to post my happy 1-1-2010 story. A year ago January, I was at a pretty low point in my life-- heaviest ever weight, and completely out of shape. I didn't like to walk down to the end of my street because of the steep hill on the way back up.

Last night, I was on the treadmill and I've been doing a run/walk routine recently.

I still can't believe that I run a little. Some of you may remember that I'm the girl who NEVER RAN, ever, at least not more than a few steps, for probably at least ten years.

A few years ago, I used to dream that I was running... it made me sad. I assumed it would remain a dream.

So anyway, I'm on the treadmill, blasting Dixie Chicks on the ipod, and I'm about fifteen minutes into my work out, and all of a sudden, I just get this RUSH...ENDORPHINS! I'm just running along, feeling great, smiling.

I felt SO TERRIFIC, not tired at all, and I'm thinking... what a GREAT way to start the New Year.

I call it my 15 minute "high." All of a sudden, I am not out of breath anymore, I am into a rhythm with my stride, I love myself, my life and exercising. I think working out for 45 minutes is sooo much easier than 15 (if that makes sense). During those first few 15 mins I push myself to get to the "high." Once I get there I almost never want to stop. It happened to me today too! I had forgotten about it from my "first life." I used to run and would have the same thing happen. Now I ride my bike, but it's similar. I feel so good when I'm done too.

very cool. I'm really happy for you. I don't know if people always realize that that kind of happiness and accomplishment spreads out to others. So what you do for you, you are helping other people to do. That made sense in my brain, hope it did to you too! ha. thanks for sharing it.

So, it's not just me!

I can actually time it in the pool-- all of a sudden I get a huge burst of energy and LOVE my workout-- it always happens exactly fifteen minutes in....

But I was STUNNED when I hit that point running.

I love exercise and I'm so glad I took it up again!!!

My husband was truly astonished to see my running!!!
