Default Newbie getting her forum feet wet

Hello everyone.

My name is Nicole and I just joined 3FCs. I'm on day 4 of Phase 1 and having an easier time of it than I thought. The only difficult thing is the meal planning and the cooking, especially since I'm cooking for me, my boyfriend, and our roommate.

I just wanted to make my presence known mainly. I was on WW for a while and took full advantage of their website's forums so I was excited to find a forum for beachers.

I love looking through all the threads for advice and recipes

Nicole, welcome to SB! As a former WW too, I can't say enough good things about SB. It's been much easier to maintain and much more filling for me. Not thinking about food all the time. This forum has helped me immensely. Hope it does the same for you.

Hello Nicole!

We had about the same weight goals. I know SB has really changed the way I eat. Hope you find it as beneficial as we do!

Happy New Year!

Hi Nicole! Welcome to our little piece of paradise! We're in about the same place, so we should encourage each other along.

to The Beach. Lot's of room for your towel but you'll need to get in line for the cabana boys.

Hi Nicole

I am on day 5 and agree that the hardest part is meal planning (especially with 2 picky teen boys). I have done SB twice before and WW too. Even though I have yet to keep the weight off, I think SB has a greater chance of being my lifelong eating plan. No counting those WW points! Found the forums the best place for recipe ideas. I've only been posting here for a few days and already feel the motivation from the camaraderie and shared experiences.

Happy New Year to us all!

Welcome Nicole. I too am a newbie. I definitely understand the difficulties of planning meals for those who are not participating in the SB way of life. For about a week, I would prepare separate meals for my family. Then after they saw and tasted the meals that I had prepared using recipes on this board (which by the way are very easy, creative and delicious), they too wanted to eat with me. The only thing they would do a little differently, is have a dinner roll and sweet tea with their meal, while I had no bread and ice water. Believe me, I didn't even feel like I was missing a thing. Maybe instead of preparing different meals for everyone, you can prepare one SB friendly meal to give them a chance to taste some of the yummy SB meals. Many times when people hear the word diet, they think of bland and non filling. Just give them a chance they may like it! My family sure did.

Once again, Welcome!

Oh, I definitely second that. My whole family pretty much eats Beachy. I don't use artificial sweeteners, though.

I'm hoping the addressing my carb addiction in SB will do for me what WW couldn't. Also, for me counting those points became almost like a game and I got obsessed; food was constantly on the brain. That's no way to live

Hi Nicole! Welcome to the beach. Everyone's given you the run down but I will fourth and fifth the recipe section: such awesomeness that you (and by proxy, your bf and roomie) won't feel like you are "dieting" (save the first 2 weeks).
