Hey there!
Gosh, our stats are close!
I found I did have to restrict some of the sugary goodies for the first few months or so...I, like you, was bad at self control around them. I came up with things that would let me have a small treat (150 calorie skinny cow or other low fat or sugar free ice cream bars and cones, for example) without pushing me into that craving cycle that led to a loss of control, and just did without the baked stuff for a while. The good news is, when I did go back to trying it, a LOT of it was just plain too sweet, and I became much more easily satisfied on 2-3 bites of cake or a cupcake, instead of 2-3 slices of cake.
If you're going to be baking, but don't want to eat it, you might consider finding some folks without weight issues onto which the baked goods can be pawned, and then chewing gum to prevent yourself from tasting batters and such. You can also usually find a bake sale or etc. to donate the goods to, if you just need to bake and have no one to bake for.
