Default Restaurant Choices- Did I do ok?

It's that time of year when our boss takes us out for Breakfast for the Holiday. Last year, I'm sure I ordered some high-fat, high-calorie, biscuits, gravy and potato combo. Today I went with an egg beater spinach and swiss cheese omelet, no toast, no potato and sliced tomatoes, black coffee. The problem I have is that I don't know how much swiss cheese was used or if they truly used egg beaters for my omelet. Shoud I have skipped the swiss altogether?

I woulda skipped the cheese, but you did okay for sure!! If it's on the menu as egg beaters, then they hafta use them. Even if they were "real" eggs, you're only looking at 75cals per egg and it was most likely a 3egg omelet. Great choice on the no potato!

The question, I think, on the cheese is, did you really enjoy it? You were eating out and as such is a bit of a different situation than eating at home. You did really well in your choices but did having the cheese make you feel guilty? Then next time leave it out. Or was having the cheese important so that you didn't feel too much on a 'diet' or different from everyone else. Then it is important that on rare occasions you indulge in small pleasures like cheese.

I think that you did really well. Kudos to you.

I think the cheese was absolutly fine! It was probably 100 cals worth of cheese, you more than made up for that with the other great choices that you made! I think that sometimes we need to keep some foods in our diet (in moderation of course!) that we love like cheese so that we dont feel deprived. You did a great job!!
