Upcoming Wedding!
Hello Everybody!
Anybody engaged and have a wedding coming up?
My wedding is in June 2011 (year and a half) and I need to drop 100lbs!!!!
Would love to find other engaged gals who are trying to drop the pounds before their big day!
Anybody out there?

I am engaged but I have no wedding date set. I'm also in the process of losing a substantial amount of weight before I tie the knot so good luck to us!!

Julia, Congrats on the engagement!!! We don't have a date set yet, just a month Looks like you've lost about 50 lbs in just over 3 months! Any advice or tips? Are you using a program?

Congrats on the engagements! i will join in to support you Rocky, I was married this year (april 18) and weighed 235, So I can set a goal for my one year engagement. me and my hubs never got a honeymoon, and we're planning on taking one this year (prolly not til june). So I want to be in better shape for my anniversary.
My goal is 226 by 4/18/10.
Hope you'll have me as a buddy!

Hey Rockymtn girl! Congrats to you too!
I've been counting calories and working out everyday. The big difference for me this time is the working out. All of the other times I tried to lose weight, I would plan to do it 3 or 4 times a week but I'd keep making excuses and eventually just stop. Working out everyday doesn't allow me to delay it and it definitely keeps me accountable in terms of what I eat because I fear undoing my work lol!

I have an engagement depending on losing weight. This sounds worse than it is, as I also have a BA to complete and a credential program to follow. But I won't allow an engagement to occur until I lose the weight.
So, we're ironically on just about the same time line, just different goals.
Congratulations on the engagement.

I'm engaged but we're far from setting an official wedding date. We recently had a discussion about my weight loss, when I said I'd like us to hold off on getting married when I'm much closer to my goal.
Part of my feels a little vain over it, but I really don't want to feel self-conscious when I'm walking down the aisle and being photographed all over the place. Plus it somehow seems like a fitting way to start that stage of my life; to be healthier, happier?

Julia, sounds like a plan close to what I'm doing, so I hope I have as much success as you have had!
Medina, Oh where you going for your honeymoon? How exciting! I have a trip with the fiance in July to Oregon Coast and would like to be 170, so I need to lose 80lbs in 8 months!
DuckyYellowFeet, Whew, sounds like you have a lot on your plate! Looks like we have real close goals too!!!
Sirenity, congrats on the engagement and congrats on already losing over 100 lbs!!!! That is so great!!!! You'll be at 150 in no time! I think girls are allowed to be vain for their own weddings... all the focus is on you and it is such a huge day that I completely understand about wanting to be healthy, happy, and just STUNNING on that day!

we havent exactly decided where to go, but I'd like to go on a cruise. and wear a bathing suit! I want to go somewhere that I can swim with stingrays...
and to all you feeling a little bad about vanity on your big day, forget about it! Be vain!
my son was born Dec. 9, 08, I was married April 18, 09, and I weighed 237 on my big day, and honestly, I felt big all day. looking at the pictures makes me upset, and i want to have a formal renewal on our 5 year so i can look good. You guys have the right idea wanting to look and feel hot on your big day!

Oh I definitely want to do a cruise for our honeymoon too! We're paying for our wedding ourselves, so I don't know if we'll be able to take a honeymoon but I'm definitely trying to save up more money so we can do something! But a cruise seems like so much fun! I've never wanted to go to a tropical vacation spot due to the dreaded bathing suit... so I can't wait to be at my goal weight and look good in a swimsuit!

Definitely take a cruise to Grand Cayman. Swimming with the stingrays was a once in a lifetime experience.
