What we LIKE about winter
I know we will have griping when things get very cold and blizzardy. Sure it's cold and dark and snowy in most places and there are no flowers but let's look at theeh good stuff.
My dogs just came in from outside and smell wonderful! (I'd forgotten that ozone scent.)
The sun is shining and the trees look beautiful in their lace.
Woodstoves and quilts are a comfort.
Baking beans and roasting chicken smell better than in summer.
Soup.
Add yours.

Since I am not a normal coffee drinker- I love when it starts to get cold drinking coffee in the mornings- and hot chocolate in the afternoons!(SBD friendly, of course!)
Get togethers with family and friends
Coming home to the Christmas lights on if DH has got here before me
Lots of good soup
snow- on the rare occasion we get it!
OOh- and my big heavy down alternative comforter we bring out when it gets cold!
ELF! I love that movie!
"Buddy the elf, whats your favorite color?"
"Smilings my favorite!"

I love:
CHRISTMAS!!
the christmas lights
sitting by the fireplace sipping coco
Spending time with my family and friends
snow!
Christmas trees
The yummy foods (occasionally..hehe)
Giving gifts..and getting
the soup
making snowmen and having snowball fights
taking walks while it's snowing all around
etc...
It's also, basically a love/hate relationship with winter..haha..

I love winter and we are getting a big snowstorm here in WI. I love all the seasons but winter is a time of rest so to speak after a busy summer in the garden with all the canning and freezing. The hills in WI are so beautiful, all white and glistening. And the wood stove keeps us toasty warm. When the 10 kids were all home, it was a time of fun as they hooked up the horses and skied behind them or built home made hockey rinks on the cement behind the garage. Cocoa and toast was their favorite breakfast. It is pretty quiet around here now but once in awhile, the 10 grand kids come and then it is very lively again.

I am not a huge fan of winter cuz I hate to be Cold. But I do like a few things:
Skiing on non freezing days with my family
the beauty of the trees after a snow storm.
Snuggling up with my hubby
I love Christmas
I love making foot prints in the new snow.

I like snow days (ie: day off work because there is too much snow!)

Blizzard here too, today and tomorrow!
I'm not working today!
I am supposed to work tomorrow.
Love my hot jasmine tea.
Cookie bake & exchange with my girls and relatives this weekend.
My dogs adore the snow. They went out 6 times in 4 hours last night!
Love decorating the house for the holidays.
Lots of chili and hot soup.
OK I can't think of anything else. (I'm dreading trying to drive in this tomorrow!)

Love being home on snowy days with hot soup and coffee of course.
Always have a dozen projects planned for the loom and knitting and beading and always so disappointed that maybe only three quarters get done. Have to reduce my stash.
take care
Sophie

Believe it or not, I can come up with some:
The food holidays
Fire in the fireplace
Soups/Stews/Chilis
Heavy "comfort" foods (Cajun Lentils and Brown Rice, Mac n Cheese, etc)
Snuggling
The smell of a fresh Christmas tree
Football
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
A Charlie Brown Christmas

1>Tobogganing!
2>Red Noses of little kids who have been playing out side!
3> Sparking snow covered trees.
I really don't like winter because of the cold. Not the snow!
