Default Feeling Sick, and female fun (possible TMI)

I've been run off my feet this week, no time or inclination to work out. I'm just feeling really wonky. I've been going to sleep super early I'm so tired. No sign of TOM other than a little spotting, which is really abnormal for me. Been crampy, sore nipples (to the point that I have to hold them when they ache). I must have been quite a site when I went to the movies with my Mom sitting there holding my boobs with napkins shoved in my bra. Headache or cramps every day. The joys of being a woman. No weight loss in past two weeks either. Bleh. Just needed to rant. I knew my girls would understand.

I have to ask, just because I have been there with the same issues - are you sure you're not pregnant?

Whenever I have felt particularly funky with just spotting, I've been expecting... so it's always the first thing that pops into my mind with this sort of posting

There is always the possibility, especially since I just got back from visiting the boyfriend for a month. My TOM used to be all over the place when I was younger, but the last 3 years it's been pretty consistent. I'll give it another few days then get a home test if still a no-show. I will let you all know when I know.

My dr. explained to me that fat stores estrogen - when you have rapid weight loss, you release extra estrogen into your system, which messes with your cycle. I was having SEVERE bloat and my breasts went from a 38DD to a 40DD even though I'd lost 25 pounds (I've lost 45 now and still have not gone back to 38 DD) . She ended up giving me a diuretic/water pill to help with the edema/bloat/swelling I was having at TOM.

I have to say...I am with Arctic Momma on this one. You sound soooo like me the two times I have been pregnant. I say, girl, take a test. In fact my DH and I tried for 7 years to start out and I never(even though I tried to talk my self into the signs) had any of those signs until I was actually pregnant.

*hugs* and keep us updated!

Well, to keep you updated, I took a pregnancy this afternoon (I bought a few), but of course wasn't the first morning urine, it was negative. But if period doesn't show up by Monday I'll take another one, first thing in the morning. So nervous.

Keep us posted! I hope it's not just your body being wonky, and I got you all nervous for nothing

Usually with the estrogen shed of weight loss, you should see more frequent periods or stronger periods (or spotting in between cycle, not instead of cycle), not a lessening intensity, duration, or frequency, which is what made me suspect. However every woman's body reacts to excess hormones differently, and stress/lack of sleep/travel can also affect your cycle and the severity of your PMS.

Big hugs, either way!

Cutie, I'm nervous with you!

In the least, you can drink green tea, eat asparagus and try to avoid salt and other things that cause water retention.

I've had a bunch of people ask me lately if we're going to try to have another child. My tubes are tied, I have two teenagers, I've just managed to lose fifty pounds, I'm 37, I'm in graduate school, and my husband has just nearly finished his Ph.D. I was like, ARE YOU NUTS?

I'm sorry that you have to go through this without your boyfriend there with you. Do you have someone you can talk to on the phone?
