Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again..#887

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Good Sunday Morning everyone!

Julee - Thanks for the compliment on my picture. I don't think anyone has said I was "freakin' adorable" before. I was a little hesitant to put it up. I guess I was afraid to lose my anonymity on the net. I second your thoughts on Kellie Pickler. The idea that Mandisa is gone and that little ding-dong is still there baffles my mind.

dogpal - I am really happy for you that your new medicine is working for you. I am glad you have found such a good doctor!!!

Zelma - I am sorry you are in a 'funk'. Depression can cause us to feel tired and run-down. Is that something you have considered? In any case, I hope you are feeling better by Thursday and your fun casino weekend with the hubby!

MariaLucia - I hope your gala went well. And I hope you felt beautiful all night because I know you looked beautiful!

As for me, I am eating breakfast and then must get ready to go into the office. I probably should pack a lunch to so I don't get tempted to raid the vending machines.

Have a nice day, everyone!

Hello Friends,

Well I have an exciting little stirring happening in my mind right now, I had that lovely meal out yesterday and I am going to enjoy sharing a Ben and Jerry's icecream with Daren tonight, but then I actually feel READY to put my all into getting back on track. I have been doing it pretty half heartedly since Wednesday, in fact, I have been pretty slack. But come tomorrow morning I am going to make myself get up early to exercise, and have breakfast after that, and not at around 3pm when I have been getting up lately. I have to get back in control!

Patti - not sure if you will get to see this as you will be offline because your PC needs some work done on it, but in case you read old threads you have missed, just want to say I hope that the week you are offline you will have a good one and stay strong with your diet.

MovingandShaking - as I am like a night shift worker, in as much as I sleep most of the day and am awake to the wee hours, I do when I am dieting have points for food late at night. BUT I have often heard people say that if you eat late at night that it's bad for you because you don't have chance to work it off. I am going to try to get up to exercise in the mornings, and then try to keep myself occupied so that I don't constantly think I should be back in my warm bed. Hopefully then I will be able to have an early night and eat at the proper times during the day. Easier said than done though when all I want to do is sleep.

As for your question about a quick breakfast, what about a breakfast bar, like Nutrigrain, do you have them there. They are 2 or 3 WW points depending on which you have, so that with a glass of half fat milk would be a good breakfast on the go.

Julee - I am glad that your visit from your mum went so well. I bet you never expected to be crying when she left. How far away does she live from you? Now you have things on track and enjoyed being together maybe you could visit her or visa versa more often?

I hope your dad won't go asking loads of questions and get uptight because everything went so well, and I also hope that at your wedding they remember they are there for you and that any grievences they may have with each other can be put aside.

Sorry to hear that your friend let you down, have you heard from her yet as to why she never got back to you to confirm dinner plans?

Sorry as well that Jason's mum is 'doing your head in' with the rehearsal dinner plans, where to have it etc. Times like this I bet you wish you were eloping to Vegas Just hang in there, I am sure it will all come together and you will have a perfect day, then you can forget all the stress of the planning of it and just look forward to married life!

Annie - well I have learned something new about you now, that you like to fish. Couldn't help but smile at your story about being so proud that you were managing to catch Trout for a change, only to find that the river only had trout in it, lol

I just love it when I hear people agree with me about Kellie Pickler, and every post I read, especially Julee asking if the world needs another semi-talented blonde and Xena's reply that she didn't understand how we lost Mandisa yet still have that little ding dong in the show, well it makes me laugh. I read all those comments to Daren because he thinks I am being unfair because every week she sings I am yelling at her to get off lol, and at voting I boo when she's safe LOL. He doesn't want her to win, but he thinks she has more talent than I give her credit for. Yeah talent at being thick, LOL.

Zelma - lovely to see you post, though I was sorry to hear that you have been feeling down, and that you have somehow gained 5 lbs. Well you know what I am going to say don't you? You haven't done anything to warrant that gain, so you know it's got to be a fluid build up or something. It definitely isn't fat and I am sure next time you weigh it will be gone again. You know I always thought that when people lost a lot of weight like you have that it would get easier, that you wouldn't have to constantly worry about getting the exercise in and watching what you eat. I guess your post really brought it home that this is for LIFE, and that we will always need to watch that we don't let ourselves get back to the fat women we were, or in my case still am.

I LOVE that you and hubby are going to have an overnighter at the Casino and that you are going to get all dolled up and really treat yourself. You deserve it Zelma and I can't wait to see some photos. I hope if you gamble as well that you win a bundle. When Daren and I were in Vegas the only gambling we did was putting money in the slot machines (pokies/one arm bandits) lol, and what we won, which wasn't much, we put back in. We had far too much else to do, we didn't have time to gamble more than that lol.

Xena - did you manage to take a packed lunch into the office so that you didn't end up buying from the vending machines?

Elaine - hello and I used to use the WW message boards many moons ago when they used to have the 'bump' feature. That was when if anybody replied to your posts or you to theirs then the message would go to the top of the board. For some sorry reason they decided to stop that, and half the time your message, or your reply to somebody's would get lost back amongst pages of other messages, and I just didn't like that. So I decided to find other support boards. I found Dotti's first, and then I found 3FC, and although both are great sites, I love this the best of all. I hope you will love it here just as much and that we can all help you along your weight loss journey.

Crock - how are you feeling today, your posts seemed a bit more positive, so I hope that means you are feeling a bit brighter. I am glad you liked my last email to you and that it made you laugh, my goal was achieved Hope to chat with you soon

OK well I have some emails to write now so I will finish up and will write some more later. Take care all,

Hugs,

Ammi

Ammi....yeah the visit was just so nice. She is in NY and I am in LA....so the likelihood if more frequent visits just isn't there. They both know that they are going to behave during the wedding..I'm not worrying. As much nonsense as Jason's mom spouts off..I still want to go through with the whole thing. I'm enjoying the process and it's been an excellent exercise for me in patirence, restraint and self-control.

Off to shower and wash the color out of my hair....hopefully it took well. I'm not as brave as Kayley..so it's not green...but hopefully it will be a warmer coppery red.

Happy Sunday!

Julee - surely green hair would look so beautiful with your wedding bouquet, well the stems of the flowers anyway lol. Seriously I hope the lovely coppery red has taken and you like how your hair turns out.

Sorry that you don't live closer to your mum so that you could have more regular visits. Well look at it this way, although they may be few and far between, you will just enjoy any visits you do have even more. At least you guys are in the same country. My mum lives in Australia and I am in the UK, last time I saw her was 9 years ago when I went on holiday over there. It's so expensive now though, and having Daren with me as well, we could never afford it. I write plenty though, and ring when I can, so that's one good thing.

Ok time to order my tea, a very naughty kebab and chips home delivered, but tomorrow I promise myself and everyone here is D day and the diet will begin with a vengeance.

Hugs,

Ammi

Just a quick hello to everyone --- a quick "drive by" posting as I'm taking abreak from a bit of yardwork.

It's a beautiful day out there today.. actually got out a bit to clean up the front flower bed (sooo much ivy growing...grrrr..... and too many weeds).
We hit Lowe's too, and got a bunch of mulch, and several plants--peonies, clamatis, some pretty things. Also some basil for the herb garden..yum. And a couple new hummingbird feeders because I saw my first hummingbird today! I LOVE hummingbirds. I'm sure I'll feel it in my legs tomorrow what with all the bending and stretching.. especially since my exercise has not been a bit part of my life lately. Definitely need to change that.

Julee--I'm SO happy your visit went well. Mothers and daughters can have such strange relationships... I've been thinking about you lately, and SO glad it all went well!!!

And can I just add my 2 cents... Kellie Pickler not even in the bottom three last week after messing up the song so badly??? (when no one else did)... I mena... COME ON.... OK.. so she has a hot bod... but.... COME ON. Clearly the voting has nothing to do with the musical talent...

Ammi... I still think the jury's out onthe whole "eating late" thing. It makes total sense to me that eating late doesn't give you a chance to work it off... but it also makes total sense to me that what goes in, goes in, no matter what time it is.... it's a matter of total in and what we work off over the day(s)... so unless you're doing a bit workout at night, I'm not sure it matters whether it's 6pm or 11pm. But hey.... like I said, they both make sense to me, so what kind of help am I??

This talk of fishing makes me want to go fishing! It's been a long time, but I do like to fish---I grew up on a lake and boating, swimming and fishing all summer and skating all winter was just what we did. So Crock and Dogpal--you may have started something. A 3FC Fishing club!!!! I'm in!

Elaine-- let me add my own WELCOME Glad you found us!

OK... one last thing.... why.... WHY.... why is it that scales are so freakishly fickle??!!? I have a decent scale... and not particularly cheap one, either.... it's digital... I don't move it around... I weigh myself at the same time of day... one day it's says one thing.. three days later it shows I gained 2 pounds... the next day back to the original, two days later it's different... today it was minus 5 from two days ago. I know I didn't lose five pounds in two days. I just need to keep off the silly thing, do it once a week and figure it's just a "best guess" anyway. errrrrrrrrrrrrr.......grrrrrrrrr....

Anyway----good day, good night... happy thoughts, everyone!!

Mel

Okay ladies (and mokster, wherever you are!), I had every intention of doing personal responses today. But, I'm beat. I'm literally hanging on by a thread and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. Of course there is an end in sight, but it just doesn't feel that way. My work schedule will go back to normal after the 29th, so I just have to hold on until then. Man, 60+ hours a week is enough to kill you when it's been as jam-packed busy as it's been at our hospital.

I did, however, weigh in today. Ugh. I'm extremely not thrilled with the number I saw, but I figured it was coming. When I weighed last time, I was surprised I hadn't gained more, so I figured it'd show up sooner or later. My eating habits are slowly getting better once again (not that you'd be able to tell by the cheetos sitting beside me), so now I just have to get my butt movin'. I really need to start drinking water again. I think that's a huge part of my gain. So, here's to a better week. Hope everyone is doing well. My thoughts are with each and every one of you!

Mel - I have never been fishing, and I do live in a different country to most of you keen fisher 'people' lol, but can I be in the 3fc fishing club anyway Don't want to be left out

As for whether to eat or not, I am undecided too. I guess the only way to figure it out is spend a month eating as I normally would, at the times I normally would, and then a month eating earlier. It might show a difference, it might not. I think I might try it out especially as it will be difficult getting back on track if I can't eat in the night. So for the next month I will have night time eating, and see how I go.

You said the scales are fickle, it's not the scales, it's your body. I stopped weighing weekly because I tried the daily weighing thing and I too had stupid results, up 3 lbs one day, down 5 lbs the next etc. It's all down to water retention of something. Either way I did go through a stage of weighing monthly. But I learned the hard way that monthly weighing doesn't show me soon enough when my diet isn't going right, so it's weekly weighing now. Be firm with yourself and do the same, weekly weighing only

Brandnewme - sorry that you aren't happy with your latest weigh in. You will have to do what I am, just take the numbers, understand why they are that high, and move on. Tomorrow is another day.

Wow you sure are working some long hours? What job do you do at the hospital? Sorry if you have already said, I have memory like a sieve. I bet you can't wait for things to calm down there.

Patti - glad to see you are still with us, I hope that when you have the extra memory put in that your PC will be up and running again without any down time. It's amazing how much we all miss this place when we can't come here.

Why are you having problems changing your ticker?

Bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi

Ammi -- no worries about the distance --- I vote that you can be in the fishing club anyway! You just need a realllllly long line I guess! of course.... Crock and Dogpal haven't said I can even join in, so I may be putting that ol' worm on too fast, myself

p.s. I still hate that scale.... but thanks for the encouragement to keep perspective...

Hello all!

I'm just posting to let you all know that I may not be posting much in the next week or so. I'm just still so overworked that I can't imagine getting caught up and next Monday is my surgery so I've just got to do all I can between now and then.

The weekend was long and mostly unproductive. I'm working on office work right now - or would be if I wasn't posting! Anyway, I'm having a tough time with food right now. Not going crazy...but around a lot of bad choices without any really good ones to be had. So for now I'm concentrating on NOT gaining! That's all I have time for.

Turtle - You posted! I saw you post! I hope you'll join us from time to time!

Later ladies (and gentleman!) Hope you all kick butt this week!
