I need help!!!

I need a new program for the new year. I need something that will help me PLAN my meals, or menus. Who can tell me about their plans? WW online? What is that like, and could I do it without going to meetings? TOPS do they help you with menus? Anyone know anything about Jenny Craig, or LA Weight Loss? I've already tried SouthBeach Online and that didn't work for me. Who knows anything about E-diets? I know I can't do OA tried that already, (too huggy for me)

Wait to hear your opinions!!!

Barbara-
I lost almost 60 lbs on LA Weight Loss a few years ago. I loved the program. It is SUPER easy to follow and you can buy everything at the grocery store. There is an entire LAWL thread under General Diet Plans. The downfall...it can be expensive...right now I think it is about $3-7 a week...depending on the center you go to.

Default Bad News!

Happy Tuesday Ladies!

Hope everyone's Christmas was as hoped. I had a very nice, but too rushed Christmas. I am going to figure out a way to make next year's different/more relaxed.

I am on my second day OP, and feeling pretty in control. Yesterday, I even got my husband to go to Bally's with me to do weights. I am determined to lose 10 pounds prior to January 15th.

Well, here's the bad news....

Yesterday, I had my appointment with my gynecologist and she told me that based on my charting of temperatures, that it doesn't appear that I am ovulating. She also said the the results of DH's semen analysis showed no sperm! She now wants us to see infertility specialists and says that it is a very high possibility that if we do get pregnant with medication, that multiples would be in the cards. Needless to say, my husband is freaking out. Anyhow, I will be contacted my primary care physician's office today to start the referral process.

Hey everyone

Today is being a great day. I'm up and moving and my nose is hardly dripping. I was even able to go to physical therapy. I'm sure the movement is what has me feeling so terrific. I also got in to do a WI, and the news wasn't good, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as it should have been. I'm up 3.5, so back to 286. I'm going in to weigh once more this week (they actually encourage 2 visits a week) so I'll wait to give a final year ending number until that time. I've also journaled my food, water and exercise for the first time since the 13th. It is amazing how such a simple thing leaves me feeling powerful and on top of my program.

Susie, grats on day 2 I'm really sorry about the news from the gynecologist. At least you know where you are starting from. Kind of like doing that first weigh in? There should be plenty they can do to get you ovulating, at least. I'm glad you have been able to get the process started. *HUGS*

Marcie, grats on your second day as well! I've heard a lot of good about LA Weight Loss. Here they have this advertisement running that they pay you back half the cost of your program if you keep your weight loss off for a certain amount of time. Downside is that you have to pay them up front for the entire thing? I think that is how it works. What are you doing for your food plan now? Not sure if I have missed this somewhere, sorry if I'm asking you to repeat yourself.

BarbG, I'm going to have to do some checking around, but I think eDiets is one of the online plans that sends you weekly menus?

BarbPA, sounds like cheesecake muggings have moved to your part of the country. Thank goodness I'm no longer a target!

Terri, sounds like you have a good start on the new year.

My 8 year old fell asleep on the couch and her sis informs me that she didn't get up until 11 to begin with. She is running a temp of 103. I'm outta here to go play Dr. Mom. Take care!

Andria-
They do want you to pay for the whole thing up front...but I told them they were crazy if they thought I was going to fork out that much money up front. I paid for 4 months which should be around 40 lbs and it was $199.

I am on their Red Plus plan (for those over 300 lbs I think). This is what I eat each day:

Breakfast
1/2 Protein
1 Starch
1 Fruit

Snack
1 Starch

Lunch
1 Protein
2 Veggies
1 Starch
1 Fruit

Snack
1 Fruit

Dinner
1 Protein
2 Veggies
1 Starch
1 Fruit

You also get one Fat and two Dairy to use during the day. Nothing within 4 hours of bedtime. Lots of water too. Also...two of their LA Lites which are protein bars/shakes can be used each day. I buy Luna Bars at walmart.

When I get down to 280ish they will switch to the Red Plan (no Plus) and I will lose a couple food items...one starch and one fruit. boohoo : ) They have a BUNCH of colors...depending on yoru weight, how much you want to lose, how much your work out, your gender, age, diabetic, etc.

They have lists of what each food group consists of....so it is pretty easy. You are supposed to eat fresh or frozen fruit and veggies...no canned.

I think that pretty much sums it up! hehehe

Default More Christmas cards!

I love getting the pictures! Andria...I love the picture of you and Tony! You two look very happy and I really like the haircut!

BarbPa...You look great, little makeup <your words> and all! I really enjoyed your letter too!

I got myself out last night in the bitter cold for a walk with the dog. Not the best idea, since there were quite a few icy patches...one good tug from her and I'd have been down! SO, tonight, no dog! I'm determined to get some exercise in EVERY day. I'm packing my clothes for an early morning trip to the gym, since I don't have to do the school run this week. I'm thinking I'll hit the treadmill, do some weights and cap it off with a good swim...then maybe the jacuzzi. I'll try to not nod off in there!

Feeling good about food. I have a nice big salad already made, sitting in the frig. I'll bring some to work tonight, hopefully, I'll get a chance to have some...last night/this morning, I didn't stop working til about 7:15! quitting time is 7! I'm usually done around 5:30ish and read or BS til it's time to go...It's the post-Christmas rush...Seems like the doctors need to admit EVERYONE to make up for that lost revenue from the week before Christmas! Cynical, but true. Hey, Tony do they teach that in med school? Milk the system dry 101? Not that you'll take that class!
*I guess 30 years of working in a hospital have jaded me a bit!

Back to bread making. Don't get too excited, it's with a breadmaker, not by hand. I tried it last night and got a half baked, gooey mess for my efforts. I'm thinking I didn't push the pan down into place, so it didn't mix entirely...smelled good, though! What a tease!

Have a good night, all!

Oh! One more thing! BargG...I got such a laugh this morning from your comment about OA..."too huggy!" Too true!

hey everyone. Man, I've done so badly. I was so happy about my weight loss.. then I just threw it all away. I'm sure if I look I've gained a lot. I think the lack of money (and food), depression, inabiltiy to sleep - all of it is just weighing in like crazy. I keep telling myself to get back on track and I just keep not doing it. I swear if I don't work out tonight I'll beat myself! :P I really really need to get back on track, especially once the New Year starts. I want a new life this year. I'm considering making a mission statement - completely serious, and doing all I can to maintain everything.

Andria - you don't have to weigh in in person for the Challenge YOu can just enter it on your own time at the website, thats what I'm doing. (Lord knows I hate to weigh myself in front of other people, especially strangers!) and congrats on the ipod what a sweetie!

Barbpa - congrats on the working out! one cheesecake isn't too big of a deal

Jibbelle - congrats on staying op! I've been having such a hard time with it

Determined - I definitely need to take those words to hard. I procrastinate constantly, its my biggest enemy.

Barb - I tried discovery.com/health 's program.. they give you a whole list of ingrediants to choose from that you're willing to eat/buy and they make a whole bunch of meals to make with it and set it All up for you. It didn't work out well for me because I'm picky and didn't like most of the foods so it was harder. It is pretty decently cheap too I think.. I paid something like 30 bucks for 3 or so months? Good luck finding something!

Susie, goodluck with everything and congrats on the working out and staying on track

Kat - we posted at the same time But all I can really remember about your post is the bread! Oh my, I Love the smell of bread cooking.. home made or machine.. MMM!

I think thats everyone! and now I'm gonna go dwiddle around until I get up the motivation to do everything

Love you all! Take care

to all.

Barb.G - I sent a big email to you. Hope it helps!

CD - One step at a time to get back on track. Remember how great it felt to see the success on the scale? Just keeping telling yourself how great that felt and let that help be a motivator. Just do it!

Got stuff to do. Have a good night!

Terri-

Where in MO do you live? I grew up in Mexico, MO (not far from Jeff City/Columbia)....but lived in St. Louis for 8 years before moving here to North Carolina.

Marcie -

I live in the Kansas City area. My mom was born and raised in Jonesburg, MO and I have all kinds of cousins that still live in the area. Most of them went to school in Montgomery City. Both of my grandparents died in the Mexico hospital. Small world, eh!?

Quiet night on the thread. I'm off to work early hoping that I can get away a couple of hours early for a horseback ride. Its supposed to be 60 degrees today.

Yesterday was a very good food day. I'd say I feel great for it but my body is going through withdrawals from all the sugar. Geez, I have a big headache. I'll live. I made it to the store last night so we have all the appropriates foods in the fridge and a good start on menu plans for the rest of this week and next. I've got my pilates done again this morning. I got in a dog walk last night. This will all feel good in a couple of days!

Have a great day and make it a OP day. Don't forget, we have the weigh-in for the 2x3 on Monday. Its also the starting point for our 2005 2x2 challenges. Its not too late to undo damage from this past weekend!
