Good morning ladies!

As soon as I got done posting yesterday and got ready to go to Home Depot, it had clouded up for rain and wind. No boating again. I got some edging stones and a few replacement plants for the landscaping I had done last year. I'm going to like the edging stones so I need to measure and purchase more before I start putting them in. I did get everything potted and planted yesterday. I carried several large pots from the front to back and others from the back to front. A touch anal, but I had to have all the white pots together in the front and the new grey pots together in the back. Amazing how a few flowers make a difference.

I've gotten on a classic movie kick. Yesterday, I watched "Scarlett Street" with Edward G. Robinson. I started out thinking that it was a really old movie but it actually turned out to be a good movie. We watched "Notorious" with Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman earlier in the week. I have "Citizen Kane" and a few others to watch. I guess its my rebellion against all the reality TV.

I'm also reading two Oprah book club books. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and "Anna Karenina". Both of them are good but I will be reading them for a long time. They are really big books.

I'm not sure what we're doing today. It was supposed to have cleared off but it rained again last night and we have a 90% chance for today. I'm thinking about yanking a rose bush and replace it with something sun resistant and colorful.

I haven't exercised yet and am feeling a touch of grouchy. But I will do some form of exercise. I'll do some time on the spinner and maybe tae bo.

Kat - You ROCK! Good job on the exercise class. I may have to fly up and work out with you. That would be a blast.

Barb - We had mexican recently. It is hard to avoid the chips. Sounds like you've had a good birthday.

2Cute - I'm glad to see that your sister is doing so much better and that you're getting to enjoy your daughters. Its about time for you to have some you time. Have fun!!!

Magnolia Barb - Welcome to the group! Congrats on the loss and for taking the steps to get healthy. Balanced nutrition and portion control are the best way to go.

Shelly - Welcome to the group too! Hey, no lurking mode allowed! Come on in and join in the group.

Meliss - Maybe pilates or yoga would help your lower back. This is weird but when we were out at the stable, I heard this lady telling another lady (obviously a new rider) to pull her belly button into her spine to help her be more stable. I try that as I walk and it takes a lot of pressure off my lower back. It definitely changes the position. Maybe that will help you too.

I need to go wake up DH and figure out what we're doing today.

Have a great day and make it an active and healthy day!

Default Good Morning!

This will be quick...I want to get outside and play in the dirt for as long as I possibly can...Son has a ball game at 5...which means 4:30...and I have to bake something for his confirmation bake sale tomorrow morning...AND work tonight! I had big intentions of getting to the gym this morning, but I'd rather burn those calories outside on such a glorious day. Sunny, breezy...only going up to about 75...perfect for yardwork!

Food is still good. I'm keeping track of food and exercise at fitday.com....I love to see the graphics...I need pretty pictures to show me how well I'm doing!

Okay...I'm off...Have a great day, gals!

Default I just had to share this one...

I figured that I'd better do my baking now, get it out of the way while I tidy up the kitchen. So I'm mixing up brownie batter......and I decided that today, I will NOT have any, not even a taste. Heh, heh...even my self-conscious mind laughed at that one! Nevertheless...I kept in mind that I wanted to be able to come back and report to all of you that I would meet that goal. yes, it's a small one, but that doesn't mean it's easy to do!

drum roll, please..................

I did NOT touch a single drop of brownie batter! Not one!! MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! Even the stuff that got on my fingers was washed off! (my son is happily licking the bowl and the spoon at the moment...he usually doesn't even see them!)

Next goal...not nibbling on the finished product....I got my work cut out for me!

2Cute, I did think about you when I posted the pink elephant! It's a "snaggable" so feel free to use it whenever you like!

BarbPA, Girlfriend, you are about 20 years to young to be named Barbara. When I was growing up it was one of THE name of girls, right up there with Linda at Patricia. Then they lost favor to the Stephanies, Jennifers, and Heathers of my kids generation, and now I'm so out of touch I'm not sure what's popular, but all my life I've been one of many Barbaras.

Still trying to rest up after pushing myself all week. Came home from work and napped for a couple of hours. I do feel somewhat better, but I'd better get off this computer and do something constructive.

Talking I'm still here

Hi Friends
It been such a long time since I've posted, but I am back.
I've just recently been hired by the local casino to work as a hotel front desk clerk, it's not a fancy or high paying job but it's something for the summer ( hopefully to be starting by next weekend). I was really getting bored and not having structure to my daily life. I am planning on going back to school in late August, and will finally be starting my classes for my BS in Education.
You all have a great weekend, I'll talk to you again lighter

Hello, Hope everyone is having a good week end!!
It looks liike we are about to get another thunder storm....So I best keep this short...

I have a smooth top stove and I absolutely love it....it is easy to keep up and none of those awful messes to clean up from boiling over things!!! I just wipe the stove top off with a commerical paste and a little non scratching type pad....and rinse and it looks like new again.

I am just popping in to say howdy and had better leave as it is starting to lightening....

AND most important it's easy to "dust".

Well, it is sunny with a slight breeze today BUT I will be drinking Nyquil, reading and catching up on my posting here.

It is so wet from all the rain we keep getting the ground is soggy and there are a zillion mosquitoes in my yard alone.

Off for some

Terri I LOVE Anna Karenina it is so good, but then I love Tolstoy. I have even read all the books written about him. Let me know how you like it.

I shall return.

Hi Chicks!
I am just popping in for a quick hello! Sorry, I have not been my talkative self lately. I've been on a roller coaster of highs and lows the past few weeks. I won't bore you with all the details.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! I am always thinking about all of you!

Love Ya!

Well, I have been reading the last thread trying to catch up.

I did sleep a little but still feel so drained from this cold.

I "sort of" watched a couple old movies, Lady Boulvey (sp) and Jane Eyre in between dozing.

I am trying to wash clothes, dishes and get ready for Monday.

Hi ladies!

Two more days of vacation! I got up and rode with the neighbor this morning. We did some really big hills. Big. I wasn't moving too fast by the time I got to the top but I made it. I came back and laid on the floor under the ceiling fan for awhile. That should be good for exercise today. At least until this evening.

DH and I went out to breakfast and then over to Home Depot. I have three more perennials to plant and I bought two strawberry jars so I can repot hens & chicks. As soon as DH gets done mowing the yard, we're headed to the boat and the horse today as well. No rest for the wicked today.

We're supposed to have severe weather this afternoon so we're trying to get all the outside stuff done now.

We're also planning WW dinners this week. Food has been....not exactly over the top, out of control....but too much at a meal. We've gotten totally off our normal eating pattern. I will give us credit for not eating between meals; our meals were not the bestest choices or portions. Today, that gets brought back into healthier meals.

Its Motivation Monday! Let's make this a great week so that at the end, we can post losses. Get out and exercise. Eat fruit instead of chips.

Sorry, that's about as much enthusiasm as I can whip up at the moment.

Let's do it!

Hi everybody! This is a quick post (my time's up).

My regular WW meeting was cancelled today; I planned to attend a meeting out of town this morning but I had to take my car in for service early this morning; turned out I had a broken adjuster in my rear brake. Thankfully the car is still under warranty so the repairs won't cost me anything; however, they will have to keep my car until tomorrow but the dealer provided me a rental car. I wound up missing the WW meeting but the WW center has two more meetings this afternoon so I plan to attent the 4PM meeting. I know I could just wait till my regular meeting next week and save the $11 but I feel that I really need to attend a meeting this week to keep me accountable and on track. Plus there's lots of great shopping near this particular WW center $$$$$$$$

Have a great rest of the day!
