Hi gals,
I've been reading your posts and its wonderful that you got the chance to get together, sounds like some long friendships are forming here.

Syn, just wanted to say "good for you" on the "friend",... stranger things have happened, took me 27 years to find my lost love again and now we are married. I NEVER forgot him.

Wanted to say that I am switching to lowfat from atkins and have given myself a week off of any plan to get the currant food out of the house then will shop for my new woe.
I have been eating carbs and low carbs..fat and low no fat ...pretty much whatever I wanted that was already in the house and just had to jump on the scales today to view the damage....and I have gained.....NOT ONE FREAKING POUND!!!!
WWHHEEWW!!!!
But I should be getting my book any day now and will go shop and I'm looking forward to losing again...i love the low fat way.

Talking

I am here to report I just got off my "huge *** green ball". I didn't fall off even once!!!! I did only the "beginner" moves and will stick with them for awhile until I feel stronger. I need to build up some muscle because even though I didn't fall off the ball, when I took the garbage out I did fall off my shoe!

Maybe I should stick to

I am cooking ground turkey on my George and then I have to start reading my Dr. Phil book again. I have to fix my head which will be a HUGE job!!!!

I also have to get my coins in a jar. I think I will have to come up with more ways to save some money than just coins since I rarely have any!

Will check in later to see if there are any pictures!!

Default Hi

Syn, I just had to comment that it is a delight seeing the "twitterpatedness" in your posts! It is a far cry from the "down in the dumps" (and deservedly so) posts PRE-email/phone friendship!!! No matter where this relationship leads, it's wonderful to see what it's doing for you right now.

Homework calls, I'm supposed to be looking up a map...I guess I got sidetracked!

There were two things we talked about in OK that I checked on and was going to report on tonight, but to save me I can only remember 1 of them. The drink I was talking about is called Slim-Lite. You can find info on it at www.slim-lite.com

I do want to tell you gals that are worried about money for next year that this was the cheapest trip I've ever been on. The way we shared a suite made out room less that 100 for both nights. We paid our own supper Friday night, and Saturday we went to a place that served food "family style" so we shared, and divided the total between us. The only other money we spent was at the Casino. We would have had to buy our own "concrete" but Syn was super nice and paid for all of them with her gambling money! If you start looking in advance or use something like Hotwire, you can get very reasonable air fare.

I personally didn't think we do so bad in the food department. We may have gone overboard on breakfast It was FREE you have to get your moneys worth!!! But the rest of the time I think everyone was pretty sensible.

Even thought we didn't spend a lot of time talking about dieting and losing weight I have come back with a new determination to really get serious and get some of this weight off before next year. I agree with Terri that we should make a goal. I have decided on losing at least 50 pounds by this time next year. It is only 1 pound a week and that should be do-able. I have started today on my prepared food and am eating a balanced 1600 calories a day. I will continue with my current walking/water aerobic schedule and really try to get back in the hang of Oxycise regularly.

Just one more quick story and I'm outta here. DH picked me up at the airport and we went straight to church. As I was going in someone asked me about my trip and as I was talking about it someone else came up. She asked what I did and I told here I had been in OK with a group of women who I met on the internet. She said she had heard of people doing that, but I was the first person she actually knew who would have the nerve to do it!

Just dropping in to say that today was definitely BACK OP! I exercised this morning and kept my food to a 25 point day. I haven't passed out from hunger either.

DH and I are contemplating quitting going to official WW meetings and putting the money aside for a trip next spring. I am committed to making that additional 25 pounds off. However, why do I have to pay someone to lose weight? We discussed doing official WI's at home every other Saturday and keeping two solid OP weeks until WI. After WI, then the weekend is a relaxed weekend before going back OP on Monday morning for another two weeks. Does anyone know if you can buy their products (I love the smoothie and bars) without being a member?

Or does anyone make a smoothie at home that is good? I like to do the chocolate WW smoothie with milk and peanut butter for breakfast. It tastes good and keeps me satisfied until lunch.

I still haven't decided. I am so close to my WW 10% goal and part of me doesn't want to miss that. But then again, why do i have to pay someone else to get a 10% reward?

Lucky - for not falling off! Also for taking steps to change your way of thinking. Set your goals smaller! Saying your going to exercise every day is a tough goal to live up to. Set a goal for one day at a time. This is a lifestyle change and we have to change our brains for it to stick. Don't give up!

Barb.G & 2Cute - Okay now, the concretes were a bit over the top point-wise!!! But, oh so yummy. I'm so thrilled to see renewed enthusiasm. We've got to help keep each other motivated so that we can feel even better next year.

Steph - for your loss. That is awesome!

RM - Welcome to the group!

Michelle - Good to see you again!

Kat - You make a heckuva drill sargeant! Been biking? I've got on my list of things to do this week to get the bike down and accessible. I probably won't be able to get up the hill out of the cul-de-sac!

Ingrid - You've done awesome this year. Don't worry about shyness around this group. I am a very quiet person around people I don't know well but felt right at home. Start saving your money and join us anyway!

Syn - Twitterpated, indeed. But you deserve it.

Thin and Susie - Hope you had a good trip home!

Hello to Crystal, Lisa, Pat, Joeanne, Andria, Mistie and everyone else!

Good morning!

Wow, two posts in a row.

Anyone catch Dr. Phil yesterday? The Weight-Loss challenge had a body challenge. They have done great.

My goal was to get up early enough to do two pilates DVD workouts. I did it! And feel great for having worked all the back and leg muscles.

Here's a Dr Philism that is so real and true:

Make today a changing day.

I don't have much time, leaving for water aerobics, but while I was thinking about it, I wanted to post the other thing I couldn't remember last night.

The name of my SPAM program is Norton Anti-Spam. I bought it at CompUSA and it was about 30.00 but worth a lot more.

I sorta had to force down my breakfast. It was an eggwhite omlet with tons of green/red/yellow peppers and although I know they are good for you, the eggwhite had no taste, and the peppers too much for breakfast. Yesterdays ham frittia was much better. Can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring. Lunch today is turkey salad. It looks really good.

Till Later

I like that. I need someone to whisper that in my ear while I lay in bed talking myself into getting up and exercise before work!

I have exercised two days in a row but today was already a challenge!!!!

Have any of you done "mind" searching about your weight? Dr. Phil's book is an example. I can fly through all the questions - come up with some darn good anwers but - - - it still doesn't bring about change. I just think 'yep, that's why I overeat' but I don't have any feeling with it. I don't know if I am explaining this very well - but I don't think without some emotion I won't change. I know in other things I have to talk to a friend and then they seem to zero in on my "core emotional issue" immediately. Anyway, all of this was to see if anyone else had this problem and to confess why this is difficult for me.

Good morning ladies! What a treat it has been to read all the posts and to know that there are great gals out there who are struggling with some of the same issues. And what a great place to be able to connect with people! to you all for the warm welcome!

LuckyLadyBug I know exactly what you mean. I know why I overeat, I know the causes and the effects, but I, too, don't seem to have any emotion about it. That is, until I'm out of breath chasing my son or I get tired just working outside in our yard. Don't have any answer, just know that I understand. I ordered the Dr. Phil book last week, but it hasn't come yet. Is it worth reading??

I had an okay weekend. We worked outside in our yard - - and I actually wasn't as tired or sore as I thought I'd be! We hand shoveled a yard of black dirt onto our strawberry patch and planted about 50 plants. Then we planted two apple trees and four lilacs! Was a lot of work but will be nice when all done. I spent WAY TOO MUCH money at the nursery buying stuff for the garden, but I'm glad I did

I think that it's awesome that some of you were able to get together. What a treat for you!

Thanks again for such a warm welcome! I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Lisa

Glad to see everyone back safe and sound. Sounds like a great time was had by all. Great pictures! Can't wait to see more. I am doing so well this time around. My first goal is to lose 30 lbs by July 10. That is when I go on vacation. I've already lost 8, so I now have 11 weeks to lose 22 more lbs. Very do-able. Hope everyone has a great day.
