Default Getting Out of the 300s!

Weight this morning was 306.8.

I'm wondering if I should continue with 2XXs threads after this one, or would it be unwelcomed considering this is a 300+ Forum subsection.

I'll either create them here or go to the 100 lb forum... I wish there was a 200+ forum. I'll be in that section of weight for a while.

Good job Alyssa!
Some of us stay in the 300+ Club because we like to hang with people who have been in our shoes. Plus it has a lot of great people here!
The 100 pound club is for people who have 100 or so pounds to lose. You could start a new thread here or there. They do have a "Getting Out Of The 280' & 270's" thread and I have seen a Get Out of the 290"s thread a few pages back.
Wherever you go good luck!

Thanks!
Yeah that's why I didn't want to go to the 100 lb club. I have more than that left to lose. But I've seen those threads there, that's why I was thinking of going over there anyways. I'm going to be an in-betweener pretty soon. I'll probably stay here and just make them here. I didn't want to discourage or overwhelm anyone here who is like 3/400+ By talking about the 200s, though.

Happy New Year Alyssa!
I like to think of it as encouraging each other. I love to see us large and lovelies lose weight. If one of us can do it we all can do it. We just all need love, support, time, and a plan we enjoy and can live with.
Hopefully with the new year you will have some company.

Happy new year!
I agree. It is encouragement to myself as well when I see people from 300+ weights lose weight.
Yes, hopefully. I would love to see others on these threads with me. It is lonely talking to myself, haha.

303.4 this morning!

I may have a gain tomorrow, though. I went over my calories a little today. Snacking. But maybe I won't gain. Right now I am eating dinner, and I have a half of a burger left (not a fastfood burger, but a homemade burger... no fries.. was not fried.. etc.). I am satisfied and would be fine if I didn't eat it. However, the thought that you have to eat everything on your plate has been instilled in me since childhood. It is sometimes hard to convince myself that it is okay not to eat it all.

I went to a convenience store earlier, and even though I was tempted by the junk, I ended up getting organic dried fruit, almonds, and a kashi bar. (Also had brought a water from home. I was at school. My college has a convenience store in a couple of the buildings.) So that was pretty great.

Additionally, I told my mom I've lost about 32 lbs. She seemed genuinely happy for me, which is not her normal response. Her typical response is a lackluster and almost sarcastic "good job, keep it up." This makes me pretty proud. I hate that I seek approval from her, though. It's like, if she is outwardly expressive with her praise, I internalize that I am doing well and am motivated to keep going. But if she brushes it off, I get unmotivated as though I'm working hard for nothing.
My fellowship leader tells me that narcissistic parents can have that affect on you. It is not of my own making. So I will continue to be consistent and do this for me and my health, even if she does respond in a way that is less than I was expecting. I know after a certain point in weight loss she'll start to make rude comments. She's already started telling me I eat too slow and rolls her eyes.

Ah well.

Haven't weighed myself yet, probably will this upcoming friday . Trying not to weigh myself so much.

Also wanted to say that I bought a yoga mat. My floors are concrete, so this should really help.

Saw a nutritionist today... She said she couldn't really help me because I already knew about what to eat and what not to eat. She said I should see a counselor/therapist instead.
But who wants to talk to a therapist when it is not a therapist's job to help you with eating/weight specific things? Not I. I regard them as more for general and other emotional/mental issues, non-obesity related.

I definitely understand what you mean about the narcissistic mom. You're doing a good job, don't forget that and keep it up regardless of her opinion or approval. My mom has started pointing out how much smaller my boobs are now that I'm losing some weight. One day she said this: "I wouldn't want to lose all my curves in order to lose weight." I was obviously aware of the fact that Ive lost weight all over my body, including my chest, but it still hurt my feelings. I'm learning to not care what she thinks and realize that most of the time when she says or does things to hurt my feelings its coming from a place of inadequacy and insecurity in HER.

Ugh.. My mom loves to point out how small my boobs are (and how small they will continue to get).

Thank you for your encouragement! I need to learn to not care what my mom thinks as well. WTG on 77 lbs lost!

I am 308.6 lbs (after breakfast) as of this morning. End of the semester can be pretty stressful, so I gained (went up to 311 at some point). Am coming back down now, thankfully.

I still have a ways to go, but I eager look forward to 300 because that's the weight I claimed I was when I got my driver's license. :-)

@rabidstoat you're not that far off! Prepare for that day because it's coming soon and will feel so good. You've got this!
My state doesn't put weights on our licenses (or at least I've never seen it). That would be mortifying to have to show people. I know it'll also feel great when you get to go in and change it to a lower weight than that initial 300 (and it'll actually be true!).

I love reading your thread alyssaro. You are not alone. I started out at 304 mid-January and as of today have lost 39 lbs. My goal for this year is to get down to 225. Then I will lose the rest of the weight next year.

So far I am on track with my goals I set and have outdone myself at the quarter of the year mark. So I set a new goal for for my half year mark.

I guess I am fortunate in that I don't have anyone to make wisecracks about my weight. On the other hand, I don't have anyone to cheer me on. I am flying totally solo so I come here for inspiration.
