Oh Sam... dear sweet Sam... you must be absolutely devastated. I have lost five cats, but I have never had a loss like you're experiencing now—so tragic. I can totally understand why your husband punched a hole in the wall: it would make me very angry, too. Not so much angry at your friend as just angry that life is so unfair sometimes, that some of the most special people in the world seem to just get chewed up and damaged and then they're gone. I wish I had something consoling to say, but all I think of is "Damn it all! That really sucks!"
