  • Welcome to the newest segment of 10 Days In The Life Boat.

This is not a "challenge" but a place for accountability to ourselves and support from our fellow rowers. So, what is your plan for this 10 day segment?

Grab an oar and join us doing our best to stay dry in the boat and not fall out.
  • Angela suggests we head for Japan. Let's go for it.

Galley's re-stocked. Life saving stuff is in good shape and put away properly and the life rings are ready to toss. Hopefully we won't need them.

My goal this leg is to ask myself "Is this worth it?" and answer truthfully, every time, before I put stuff in my mouth that is not part of my food plan for the day.
  • I've got a whole slew of goals for this leg.

    1. 37-42 points daily.
    2. Get in a walk daily (20-45 minutes).
    3. Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur: Do a kick-boxing or yoga session in addition.
    4. Try to get up every 20 minutes whenever possible.
    5. Push water. Try to drink it cold whenever possible.

Glad the boat's stocked. I need all the help I can get.
  • Going to have the goals of getting my water in and writing down what I eat. Time to get honest with myself.
  • I was clinging to the side of the boat yesterday. "Is it worth it?" is beginning to kick in and hopefully, although I'm a bit damp today, tomorrow I'll be dry and in my seat all day.
  • Hi everyone! I see you all have some good goals set for this round. I've been lagging behind because I wasn't sure what goals to set for myself. I seem to either do TOO well and it's not even a challenge, or I spend 95% of my time drowning. Lol.

But a goal came to me... I have been eating out WAY TOO MUCH! Even though I track my points, I feel I could be doing much better if I ate at home more. Now, don't get me wrong, I love being able to go out to eat and STILL lose weight, but I want to do better (since this is for my health).

So I'm not sure how many more days this runs, but my goal is to only eat out ONCE (planned for Friday night) during this leg and eat all other meals and snacks at home.

Good luck all! I hope you're doing well today.
  • Soaking wet yesterday. Didn't track, blew my points goal in an outrageous way. I did try to get up from the desk when I was at the office, and I got in two short (10-minute) walks. Did not do kick-boxing as planned.

So. Life jacket on. I'm really not such a good swimmer that I can be flailing around in the ocean. Besides, we're in the Pacific. I think there are a lot of sharks in the water.
  • Wow Stephanie you have 20 pounds off already! Good for you!
Ladies we all need to get back and STAY IN THE BOAT!
Judy you & I & everyone are worth all the work, trouble, bother and pain in the arse this weight loss journey is about!

  • hi.. well I've been backstroking out behind the boat for a good week now. I blame it on the Easter Bunny and those darn peanut butter eggs! and my lack of will power. and some stressful events that I tried to medicate with food.

I'm back today, wimpering in the corner under my towel. think I'm going to try to focus on one day at a time for the rest of this let of the journey!

  • I am done. I am done with being OK being fat. I am done getting wet.
Changing my goal back to getting my water in.
  • Thanks Ubee!

Yesterday was a wet day (ate out - well, someone brought me food), but today was dry. Tomorrow should be dry... I've got plans for dinner at home, so hoping to stick to them!
  • DRY!
Stephanie stick to your guns! You've got this.
Kinda quiet. Get rowing ladies. We are not getting any younger.
  • Hi ladies. Haven't been staying dry. Fed up with this. Trying again today.
  • got some bad news yesterday which stressed me out a lot. got a bit wet but not totally off the deep end so that's something.
    back in the boat today.
It's a gorgeous spring day here. Cant' believe how fast the trees are getting their leaves back!
  • Dry today! Woohoo!

Hope everyone else is staying dry.
