Default Feeling great in the 340's

I wanted to post this for anyone over 300lbs who is coming to this site looking for motivation.

I feel soooooooooo good! I never thought at 346lbs I could have so much energy. I went to Costco today to do our households’ produce stock-up, and I caught myself walking through the store with a literal bounce in my step and a smile on my face. My feet didn’t hurt. My lower back didn’t hurt. And I didn’t whine when I saw the parking lot was full and I had to park on a distant planet.

Then after hitting a few more stores, I came home and cooked dinner. After dinner I didn’t know what to do with myself. I was still full of energy, so I took the dogs for a 2 mile walk. What?! Who is this person? Normally I would be so tired from shopping I’d want to get take-out.

Thank you exercise for empowering me!

I started exercising religiously in April and now - two short months later – I can’t stop! When I started I had to FORCE myself, and I only did 10-15 minutes at a time. Now I can't get enough. I'm excited everyday when I find my body can do more and more.

It is possible, and if I can start exercising so can you!

That's so excellent! If I may ask, what kind of exercising are you doing?

Pardon me ladies for butting in, but I wanted to share my opinion on this question. I was 332 lbs when I started and I searched high and low to find exercise routines to fit my weight and I finally found it in the form of Coach Joshua Kozak on Youtube. Look him up he has all free workout vids from beginner fitness level to advanced. Even has low impact videos if you struggle with your joints or anything and he keeps you motivated all the way through, his vids helped me get to this stage so far.

Hope you find this info useful, keep up the work everyone!

lol, Ubee. Maybe! and thanks everyone!

wheezypi, I've been doing a little bit of everything lately. I started with walking on the treadmill. Then once I built up a little bit of stamina I added in other things such as:

Turbo Fire/ Turbo Jam
Zumba
Walk away the Pound Videos on youtube (I like to do these while I watch tv at night)
Stability Ball exercises
Tai Chi -local classes
Biggest Loser Power Sculpt DVD
and games like Just Dance on the Wii

I also hope to add swimming this week. The local pool just opened and they have an hour of adult swim time in the afternoons.

Plus I want to get serious about strength training. I think I'm going to start with 10lb weights and find a couple of videos to follow along with on youtube.

Thanks everyone. This post is a good reminder for me too, especially on those days when I don't want to exercise. My body is at an activity level where it hasn't been in years. The excitement of being able to do more and try new things helps keep me going. I don't want to return to being the person who gets tired from grocery shopping.

I am so inspired by your posts. I have not started exercise by I did the bmi chart and mine is at 48.06 which I know is way too high. I am starting a 1500 calorie diet today with exercise beginning soon. Good luck to you.
