Default 300+ and getting fit after 40 - #300

This group is for those dealing with the challenges of being fit when you have a significant amount of weight to lose which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in!

It's August! Didn't even think about it when I got up - sounds like a good day to be POP. Heading out of town to a funeral with my parents - will probably be an easy food day.

Finally had a POP day yesterday. Hoping to add another to the string today.

Looking forward to a quiet August, spending time deep cleaning the apt (It needs it!), and keeping my head in the right place to continue dropping pounds. We'll see how it goes.

Angela -- I wanted to comment on your last post. I completely see how working out of the office would help. I have exactly the same problems as you do!! Nice analysis. I believe thinking through the issue in that way can be really helpful!!

Hubby had his last day at work yesterday. He's intentionally unemployed and we'll live on my salary while he de-stresses and figures out what he wants to do next.

Daddy is worse and now on pain meds hourly to try and keep him comfortable. There is nothing that can be done to help him at this point. He has pneumonia again as well as a blood clot most likely in the lungs now. Please keep my momma in your prayers. I cant imagine what she is going thru. She did say he has fought and suffered long enough.
I ate a light breakfast yesterday and then skipped lunch and ate out last night and boy my tummy didnt appreciate it at all. I will be more careful and make sure i eat something every few hours through this ordeal we are facing.
I am going to try and make the best choices.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and I will check in when i can.

Debbie -- My heart goes out to you and your family in this difficult time.

My eating is okay, except for the fresh home-baked bead! But my weight has been stable at least. I'm not eating to gain at least.

dgramie - hugs from me as well - caregivers often forget themselves, so do take breaks to eat and self care!

and hello to everyone else as well - looks like august is getting back into the swing of things - have a good rest of the week!

Deb - prayers to you all my friend.

Was a quick and difficult trip - watching my dad say good bye to his last living relative of his generation (who happened to be like his sister as they were both only children) was very emotional for me. 750 miles, visitation and a funeral in 26 hours made me tired!

I think I'm ready to take care of me, at this point I plan to hit the pool for the first time in a long time. Later a mani/pedi.

Stay strong!

lost_ I am not a caregiver for my daddy. My mom runs her in the ground taking care of daddy. He has lived at a nursing home for 7 long yrs.

Thanks for all the hugs and prayers. Please keep them coming, he is barely hanging on at this point.
I have a shower today and off to my home town an hour away to be with family. Keeping my 18 month old grandson the past few days has been a blessing because its helped keep my mind off of whats really going on.

I made over 250 mini muffins yesterday for a shower today and only ate a couple total..

Posted a loss this week 3lbs in the past 2 weeks
