300+ Wellness Goals - December 2011
Here's how it works: Everyone of us has wellness goals. Break those goals up into small, achievable steps and challenge yourself to meet your goals by the end of the month. They can be a number of pounds lost; please keep it reasonable and safe, dietary goals, goals to change your mindset, etc. Let's all support and encourage each other on this life long journey. Don't get discouraged if you don't meet your goal, just keep on challenging yourself.
You can join at any time.

I am so excited, I've been on a plan since Sept 12 and I've lost 30 pounds. I can't wait to see what the next two months bring!!

I'm finally back. I was off work for a few days then came back a day and then was sick. I think it was probably food poisening but thankfully it seems to be getting better. Now I am just dealing with pain in my back/chest from getting sick. Fun times here!
I missed my WI this past Saturday not sure where I am in this "magical journey" but I am here.
My goals this month are:
1. Get to 259lbs.
2. Exercise 2-3 times per week.
3. Bring my lunch to work 3 days a week.
4. Drink 8-8ouinces glasses of water a day
5. Take that dang multi-vitamin. :-)

Oh tw, sorry to hear about your tummy troubles. Stomach virus or food poisoning, either way YUCK. I am glad you are here!
Did you take your vitamin today?
I am glad I jumped right back into things, diet-wise. I've been POP for three days, and today will be POP too.
I'm starting to notice that my legs are shaped differently now, the fat blobs are smoothing out. My belly apron is even getting smaller. How exciting!
Now I'm just wondering how much more I can lose by the end of this year?!
My sister just cleaned out her closet & asked me if she should save her size 20s that she has put aside for goodwill. I told her "of course". I'm still a long way from that size, but I'll be there. I haven't worn a 20 in about 10 years y'all. 10 years.

Welcome stranded!
Lol, rachael, I had to look up what lagniappe was. The definition I found was when a merchant gives you something extra with your purchase "like a 13th doughnut". Hahaha!
Glad to see you back lynnie! I think I'm going to steal some of your goals. They are working well for you and they align with what seems to work for me when I do them. Now, if I could only steal your determination.
Bummer about the tummy troubles tw, glad your are starting to feel slightly better.we've had a GI bug going around our unit that is lasting two weeks or more. I'm praying I don't get it. or if I'm going to get it I get it well before my surgery.

goodnuff - I didn't think about my regional dialect w/lagniappe, it's just a little something extra, guess that's the Louisiana coming out. And yes, that 13th donut is the perfect example. Used to be a hospital here that was named Lagniappe, I always thought that was a good name, implies they are going to do a little more for you.
I hope you are able to steer clear of the bug, two weeks sounds awful. Two days of a stomach virus has me wiped.
When are you having surgery? Are you OK?

rachealm: I can't wait until I notice my belly apron getting smaller. Logically, I KNOW it has because I used to wear a 28 and barely was fitting into them and now I actually wear a 20. Sometimes I need a 22 depending on the pant but my current jeans and work pants are 20's. Even still I don't SEE the changes. Our minds are weird aren't they? I did not take my vitamin yesterday but I do plan on taking it today. I didn't think my stomach was quite ready for it yet but I feel tons better today. I have been drinking my water today. :-)
Looks like everyone has great goals for this month. Let's finish this year strong!

I love when people use regional dialect, it makes me realize that when I start travel nursing there are going to be more things than just my new co-workers to get used to.
It is funny how our minds work. I know I lost 30 pounds. I know it had to come from somewhere but can not figure out where for the life of me. People notice it, I don't. I even did measurements the other day and have lost maybe 3 inches total in the major places; breasts, waist, hips and thighs. That's microscopic losses. But I'll take 'em.

Welcome lunalore!
Ugh, well, I'm tracking but it is all crap. But I am tracking. So that's a step in the right direction. I stayed with in my points allotment once so far, so that is where I'm going to focus this week. Ive done iffy on the eating past 9pm, mostly because of being busy enough at work that i haven't had a real supper break. But i have brought some things to snack on so that once i het home I'm not eating...as often. I have an appt. on Friday with a PT. I am excited about that.

I am here. CRAZY CRAZY busy at work though. Food is OK. Did not work out last night. Plan on going tomorrow. Haven't added vitamin. Am drinking water. It's going to be a fast and fuious next 2 weeks but I am hanging in there.
Goodnuff: AWESOME job on bringing snacks, that is huge! Also good job on tracking, it may be crap but at least it is tracked and you KNOW the damage.
Good luck with the PT. What are they going to help with?
Welcome lunalore! Hope you are having a good week rachaelm.

Good morning,
I am here. I was bad last night. Now I'm mad at myself. I don't understand why I kept shoving food in my mouth. *sigh* But, it's a new work week, and it's easier for me to stay on plan on my four working days, so here's to a fresh start today!
goodnuff - glad you are tracking. I made myself put in those extra 500 calories yesterday, even though I didn't want to see them on my graph. 30# is a big ole bag of cat litter. I know it's hard to see, , but your body is thankful it's gone. Work snacks are definitely good. A plan is so much better than winging it. I know I don't wing it very well. LOL When do you get to start traveling for work?
tw - wow, I haven't been in a size 20 in 10 years. I wore an 18 for my sister's wedding in 2001. I'm ready to see that number again. I'm sorry you're having trouble 'seeing' your weight loss, that has to be annoying. I guess that's what happens when you have over 100 pounds to lose. Actually, I guess it's just human nature, cause there sure are a lot of threads (even in the featherweights) about how difficult it is to SEE the loss.
Hi luna, glad to see you posting here. I hope you are doing well!!
