Default Where do you buy shoes? My feet are too big.

I've always had a wide foot. I have to live in flip flops cause my feet are too fat. The shoes I have now are 12W.

I'm losing weight, which is exciting, and I know eventually I will be able to wear normal sized shoes again. My problem is that I am actually moving now, which is killing my feet. I have two different pair of tennis shoes, which were fine when I was a sloth. Now that I'm trying to walk and exercise they are not cutting it.

I know I cannot be the only person in this world who has big, fat feet.

What do you ladies do for 'workout' shoes?

Ever tried men's shoes? I have a smaller size but wide feet. Guy's shoes are more comfy!!

Josey - thanks for the tip, I just told my sister I was going to have to shop in the men's side of the store, cause women's aren't working for me.

Nothing wrong with shopping on the dark side ;-)
And it is usually cheaper too!

I buy a Men's tennis shoe. I wear a 10W. I have the Brooks Beast Tennis Shoe. It is a little expensive but they are a very well made shoe, they are comfortable, and they last!

My shoes will be something I will never scrimp on. With the pounding I'm putting on my body, and at this weight, I go through a pair or sneakers every 3 months or so. I wear New Balance. I know they have a huge variety of styles and sizes.

I also vote for New Balance. I have very wide, flat feet and my feet are the most comfortable in NB. I always wear them when I go hiking/walking in the mountains in my area. They have multiple width sizes in many different styles, colors. Although I can't remember if my shoes are wide or extra wide width, so I am not much help there.

Hey there! My feet are on the large side too (go figure! lol). I wear an 11, sometimes an 11W. I usually have lots of luck at Payless, Target (though less so recently) and LL Bean.

Hope this helps! =) And congrats on the weight loss!

I buy mens too, i prefer the bulkier looking shoe. Little feminine shoes look ridiculous on my feet! Maybe one day they will look good and not like i'm one of the Ugly sisters trying to squeeze into Cinderella's shoe.....

I agree with NB for tennis shoes. I am trying a pair of Merrells next, i found them in a wide so i am hoping they are good!

I love New Balance, and I shop in both men's and women's sizes. I have an extra wide foot, so it's hard to find women's sizes that fit perfectly.

Men's sizes fit better, and with the "metrosexual" trend, I've found that I'm not restricted to overly masculine styles. There are a lot of androgenous and even what I consider feminine styles and colors in men's athletic shoes.

I love me some asics cross trainers, and I've bought mens runners since I was a teenager, they have always been easier to find. And size 12 womens runners are not something I've been able to find, not that are good quality. I shop at payless and if I'm lucky enough to be in a city where they have a long tall sally... for cute shoes.

Thanks so much for all the tips, especially wider brands. This gives me a starting point for shopping this weekend.

I'm such a cheapskate, but I know I have to spend some money to buy a good pair of shoes.

My husband wears new balance but I choose Reebok!!! I love reeboks and I always get them in size bigger because I have wide feet. The more you lose weight rach the more those feet are going to slim down also!!! So no worries I think everyone has given some good advice!!!

I wear New Balance for athletic shoes and I buy wides. For summer dress shoes, its sandal/flip flop style mostly. I hate when even the flip flop isn't wide enough and my toes hang off the edge. For winter dress shoes, I have recently found Born or Clarks shoes. They are more expensive then Target or Walmart but once I figured out my size, I started buying them used/new on Ebay for much cheaper.
