Since I've started to try to lose some weight I've hit the track. I've started by walking a mile and want to work my way up to running that full mile. So far I can run a fourth of a mile. I haven't been running for a couple years now and it is very hard. Also, I am very self conscious about it and dont like to be seen running.
Congratulations! That's a great accomplishment. I, too, have been running lately and I'm self-conscious also but I notice that it also seems to get me some respect when I pass skinny people that are walking. I get some comments about it that are positive. I bet people look at you and see you as an inspiration.
There is always going to be people that will have something to say whether you are big or small. Heck if I worried about what people think I wouldn't even leave the house. If the worse thing someone can say about me is that I am fat then **** I got it made! I can always lose the weight, but they can't lose that mental ugliness.
