Another thing to keep in mind is how you feel so much better day to day. IMHO that accounts for many mini goals. It's really easy to forget why we started this journey and how we felt back then. A long time ago a very smart person told me to write a letter and put down all the reasons for losing weight, including how I felt physically and mentally. On the 'off' days take out that letter and read it to yourself.

Short term or mini goals get you to the long term. And knowing what you're going to do to accompish those short term goals is important. A goal is no good without a plan of action. That is what the 300+ wellness goals thread is about and I'd love if you joined.
I agree on the scale thing, pick which one you like and stick with it. Same clothes, or none, and the same time of day. Only you can decide how often works for you. I can only torture myself with that device once a week. I try to remember it is only one of the many tools that will tell me my progress. There's measurments, activity level, how clothes fit.....on and on.
Goodluck on your journey!

First I have to say way to go on losing 60lbs!!!

Since Wednesday I have weighed myself an obscene amount of times. I guess because I just didn't believe that I was actually way over what I thought I weighed. The first day I weighed 305. I checked morning, noon and night. Crying every time. Then the next day I weighed about 303..it stayed there till last night. It said 300. This morning it said 300...So I am going with 300. I am not going to step on that scale again till Wednesday Morning...BUTT NEKKID...

As far as goals...I agree...You have to do what works for you. When I wrote this thread... it was out of confusion seeing some siggies with 20+ goals and some with none. I was wondering why some had so many...and it is all just personal choice.

I feel that I would get completely lost if I made a long list of goals. I commend those who do..but I just can't manage them all..

So I made a very short list...
Stay on plan...2000 calories or lower
Drink Water....64 oz a day---haven't managed that one too well
Get off Butt and do something---once a day do something, whether is is house work or walking around walmart or swimming...it is something

My goal is to do this until Oct. 15th My Daughters birthday...I will either add to it or change it....

Have you tried flavoring the water a little? Lemon, lime... even crystal light, i sometimes like the propel zero things, kiwi and strawberry is good. What do you drink instead of water?

fatmom--- I have used lemon...I have a 64oz pitcher. In the morning I slice up a lemon and fill it with water. Some days I drink it all and some days I haven't.
Do you still get the same effects from drinking Crystal Light? I need to read up on the whole drinking water thing...Currently I am addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper. I drink and embarrassingly high amount...

Back to the lemon thing...did you know one lemon is 17 calories...I have been amazing myself with discovering the amounts of calories in foods that I would not even think about adding...

Anyone on here know the pro's and con's of drinking flavored water vs. plain water???

Lemons are good for digestion and a ton of other good things though. but i know what you mean about the calories in things you'd never think of looking at.

As for Crystal light, water is water so i doubt it's going to matter if you add CL- as long as you're not adding spoons and spoons of sugar, you should be good.

I don't use lemon in my water right now, i drink it straight! I've always drank water so drinking more of it is not a hardship for me. I was drinking a ton of cokes until about a month ago when i just cut myself off. I drink Arizona green tea if i want something different or some juice. And i wont lie, i sneak in a few sugar free redbulls when i'm having a slow day.

You will get there with the water. Maybe keep count of how many Dr P's you drink a day and attempt to reduce it by one at a time over time.

Hehehehee...I drink a liter of DDP everyday...sometimes more...I stopped buying the cans or the 20oz bottles a long time ago because I drink so much of it that it just cost me twice as much...

I have tried several times to stop cold turkey. I go through withdraw...like a junkie...I get sooo sick. I have horrible headaches and feel like I was run over by a truck. So usually at the end of the 2nd day I am running to the store to buy more...I know that if I could just get over those first few days I would be okay, but I am weak and HATE pain...

Which CL do you get? They have soooo many now with all of these added bonuses to them...Which are your favorites?

I have heard that drinking the sugar free redbulls are actually good for you...one of the ingredients...can't remember which one though.
