300+ MONTHLY thread #1288
WELCOME!!!
We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.
We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.
We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.
Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simultaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.
We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us!

Hello my Peeps!!
Lovely, it's wonderful to see you again!
Annie, hope you can float around in the water some this weekend.. I said FLOAT, not workout.. hehe.
Lost angel, welcome!!! I understand about the sweets. Getting in the groove is the hardest. My problem is to not see it as restriction or dieting, but as a lifestyle change. I am finding that if I make changes too drastic, I can't stick with them for very long and I go back to the old ways. Baby steps!!
Stilltrying, happy July to you too!
Sharon, flutters are normal. Have a great time with your friend. I was sitting here thinking of yummy nachos, then realized I must be craving Mexican food because Annie's low carb burrito magically appeared beside your nachos in my head. Looks like I will have to make some of those burritos to freeze this weekend.
Hugs to all! I feel like I'm still recuperating from last weekend at my parent's house. I'm glad I have an extra day to this weekend. I've been very very tired and need a recovery day. Annie, I need your "cleaning house" motivation sent ASAP. My poor widdle house has reached critical dust mass and must be sanitized..hehe.
Hugs to all!
Ratkity

Wow it's July 1st already. Yesterday was my 9th wedding anniversary, this is important to state as we we both totally FORGOT our 8th until sometime in August.
Today is Canada Day and also markes the 16th anniversary of my father in laws passing. I never met him but my mother in law insisted my husband is just like him. Tomorrow marks the 2nd anniversary of her passing. That fact makes me wonder what time zone it is in Heaven.
Monday is Independence Day and it is a holiday weekend on both sides of the border. I am American my husband Canadian and this year he will work the entire weekend as he is working on a farm just as last year I worked the entire time period in Michigan, driving an Ice Cream Truck.
All that being said I have a lot of totally unrelated stressers going on in my life right now, which I am not ready to talk about and I am feeling very much out of control. What I can control though is my walking, I am shooting for 7-10 hours this week which I met today hitting 7.5 hours and 2400 min (40 hrs) for the month of July starting today with my 1 hr morning walk.
A month ago I was on bedrest fighting Cellulitis in my right leg. This was my turning point. I need to get my circulation moving, so I will walk my dogs.

Hi Everyone!
I haven't floated yet Rat but it is only Saturday night. My good friend and I went to a movie yesterday. I haven't been to a movie in years and it was funny (to me it was funny although very fowl language still funny) It is called "Bridesmaids". I laughed a lot and really enjoyed being with a girlfriend.
This morning Joel wanted to go to yard sales. I rode along and went to about 3 of them but stayed in the truck for the others. I get bored with them easily. lol.
Glad to see everyone seems to be doing okay.
My house is clean my yards are trimmed so I'm on a mini vacation (at home) this weekend. It is nice to just relax. Joel is watching Nascar in the livingroom and I am trying to rest my poor eyes, Allergies to the max!
I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe and happy 4th of July weekend!
God's blessings,
Annie

Hey guys! Sounds like some of you are hot, hot, hot!
It got nice and cool overnight, so I'm gonna open the windows and let the air flow through this morning.
Annie - I haven't been to a movie in years! It sounds like you had a great time ^^ Hope you're enjoying your long 4th of July weekend!
Have a good Sunday everyone! And Happy Fourth to those in the States tomorrow!

Happy Fourth of July EVERYONE!!! It was our twelth wedding anniversary yesterday! We took our boys to a safari park, no romance there! lol It was a belated birthday treat for my youngest son. I will post pics on the pic thread later. I fed a giraffe and a camel! Walked through a gated woodland with lots of lemurs, stroked exotic goats & I was offered the chance to stroke/hold a hissing COCKROACH!!!! Ummm....NO WAY! lol

Sharon - Happy anniversary! How sweet to spend it with your kids, too ^_^
Hope everyone has a happy fourth planned! Mine involves... more laundry! I got a good number of loads done yesterday, but I'm hoping to get one or two more done today. Plus my walk on the treadmill (which I want to take shortly).
I'm in a very "cleaning" mood. So if the weather is good I'm gonna keep the windows open and get more things taken care of. Nothin' like summer cleanin'!
Have a good day, all!

Lovely, thanks it was actually my youngest's late birthday treat, we can't go out alone as there's no one to watch our boys. BTW I love your ticker thing-Zombie, lol, in a local paper was an article where a guy SERIOUSLY wrote to the local council about their contingincy plans if there was a zombie invasion! I almost wet my poants! lol xxxxx
Well weighed in today...TEN POUNDS IN TEN DAYS!!! It's my operation tomorrow, (Thursday) they fetch me at 6.30-7am! I'm not even human at that time! I'll be on my way home, all being well around 10 am Friday, cross your fingers for me, I'm getting pretty scared! I'll post as soon as I'm able to.
xxx sharon

Sharon - I love how the guy wrote to the local council about it! That is great! It's been a fun little "joke" I've had ongoing for a few years. Might as well see the humor in losing weight. And hey... zombies/aliens... being fit is only going to -help- me survive no matter the invasion!
Tomorrow already! WOW! I wish you ALL the best I'll be hoping for a smooth operation and recovery!
