300+ Wellness Goals-july 2011
Here's how it works: Everyone of us has wellness goals. Break those goals up into small, achievable steps and challenge yourself to meet your goals by the end of the month. They can be a number of pounds lost; please keep it reasonable and safe, dietary goals, goals to change your mindset, etc. Let's all support and encourage each other on this life long journey. Don't get discouraged if you don't meet your goal, just keep on challenging yourself.
You can join at any time.

Remember goals should be...
■S = Specific
■M = Measurable
■A = Attainable
■R = Realistic
■T = Timely

1. Stay below 200 g carbs at least 3x a week.
2. At least 3 hours in the pool each week on average for the month.
3. Average at least 80g protein/day each week (in other words, when still hungry at night, choose protein snack over carbs)
4. Not more than 3 weekend/vacation days over 2500 calories for the month. (I'll be on vacation from July 1-10, so this will be a real test)

OK, I didn't do too well in June so July will be great! My goals are:
1. Drink 64 ounces of water a day.
2. Track my food at least 6 days a week.
3. Get OUT of the 260's! I have been here WAY TOO LONG!

-Walk 36 miles
-Track everyday
-Take two "me" days....no housework, driving, just me and a good book
-something to do with Geneen Roth's workbook, but I don't know if it's set up by days or chapters as it hasn't arrived yet

Okay, my knee problem was a huge set-back in June, and I've been 'off it' except for essential walking for the past 3 weeks, but it's healed enough for me to begin walking for exercise again. (huge YAY!) My main goal is to increase daily walking so that by the end of July I can walk 1 mile without stopping.

1. Get in the 3teens ( a 6 pound loss)
2. Learn to say "no" to food and stick to it.
3. Exercise for at least 10 minutes a day, even if it's just a walk.
4. Lower carbs. I'm not sure what number I'm shooting for, but I just know I've been consuming too many, hehe.

The weekend was not bad except for the stifling humidity. I am really going to have to dig out my DVD Walk Away the Pounds

I did good all weekend until yesterday when I really effed up. Back on track today though!
Glad to hear that you are doing well, yay for the loss!
I hear you Lynnie, it's too humid to do anything here. Hoping to get a walk in tonight if the rain holds out.

OK, goals for July - I sucked at meeting my June goals, but you have to try:
-- get below 300 (4 lbs to go!)
-- complete my 5 day walking challenge
-- meet my 3/4 mile without stopping goal
-- drink at least one glass of water a day (am really struggling with it!)

That's right Lost, keep trying!
I'm +.6 this week, and it was well deserved. I think I'm needing to watch my carbs too. I watched a documentary called FatHead yesterday that really got me thinking. I'll have to investigate what a proper amount would be.
Hope you all are doing good!

Hi Goodnuff! I just googled the Carb info and this is what I found:
If you are trying to lose body fat, 20-70 grams are recommended, depending on your level of activity.
If you are not trying to lose body fat, 180-230 grams are sometimes recommended. Please note, however, that unlike protein or fat there is no minimum daily requirement of carbohydrate for good health or to sustain life.

Hang in there. .6 will be gone before you know it. I doing well so far this week. No real exercise but eating good.
Lostbutstilltrying: I sucked in June too. The important thing is that we are both back and going at it again in July! :-)
Lynnie923: Did you dig out those DVD's?
