Hey guys, hope you're all well. I've been gone this past week again and wow has it been a really rough week. I had a wonky TOM that kind of got lost in the mail between my PMS week and when it finally came... 2 weeks late. I was in a ton of pain so I stayed in bed most of the week fielding phone calls from various family members over various family drama. I had to watch my nephew like 4 times in there and I swear to you that was my only relief. Of course until Thursday where we had a small but hilarious disagreement.

My nephew is 10 and has autism so he's kind of quirky. I made him chicken nuggets for lunch and he ate about half of them and then wanted nothing to do with them. He ran into the kitchen and got a little 2 pack of some little debbie snack thing and devoured it. He then proceeded to grab another 2 pack of them and I said "whoa whoa whoa, eat your chicken buddy." He shushed me, which I suppose is better than hearing "shut up auntie." I said "hey don't you shush me, eat your chicken." So my lovely nephew grabbed his plate, dumped the chicken in the trash, handed my the plate and said "fish sticks auntie." I laughed so hard. I know you guys might not see that as a well behaved kid, but for a kid who never speaks, that was an awesome thing to happen. Not to mention hilarious.

I ended up staying at my sister's until the wee hours a lot last week just to get away from my house. My tenant freaked out on my husband which left me beyond livid because she was in the wrong. She called to apologize 10 minutes after but seriously it was beyond uncalled for. She said it was because she was out of pain meds and she was grumpy but I say when you're on a business phone call, put on your big girl pants and suck it up for 5 minutes. The positive though is I think I'm finally learning how to keep control of my temper and letting stuff like this not keep me down. That's a major step in the right direction for me.

My best friend had to cancel our dinner arrangements yesterday because her mom is very ill. She had open heart surgery 8 weeks ago and her health is declining. Friday her blood sugar after lunch had dropped to 43...that's not good at all. I feel so bad for my friend, she is beyond stressed out and after knowing her for over half my life I can see how close she is to a full blown meltdown and I don't know what I can do for her. She needs a good long vacation. As far as having to cancel, I suppose that's a blessing for me. I had a good WI today and if I had a salty meal it might not have been so good. I'm down 4 pounds from mid April. I missed my WI and measurements last week. I kept waking up and eating breakfast before I remembered I was supposed to get on the scale! Oops. I didn't meet my goal of 260 by May first and I didn't meet my exercise goal. I don't really care though, I'm still a work in progress and I had a bad month overall with that crazy painful TOM and the flu at the start of the month. New month, new goal... don't care about the past.

The worst part of my week came this morning. Out of my very large extended family, most who I don't even know really, I'm closest with my dad's brother, my Uncle Mike. He's more of a dad to me than my own and I spent a lot of time at his house with my aunt and my cousins as a kid. Well, this morning he was admitted to the I.C.U. with internal bleeding that they we having trouble finding and stopping and this morning they weren't sure he was going to make it through the day. I've just been kind of numb all day and finally we got some good news that he's stable for now. He wants to go home, he's being super stubborn. The doctors keep telling him he needs to stop smoking, drinking, etc and start eating healthy and perhaps retire because he keeps getting banged up at work. He won't though, so therein lies the problem. You know what though, stable is a start. I took a huge sigh of relief with that one. We can all start harping on him about his diet and lifestyle and maybe it will make a dent that we all care about him.

I haven't had a nail break since I started the biotin supplements and my hair is thicker already. It still falls out in clumps but the quantity is a lot less. It's been super fluffy and frizzy with the rain and humidity though so I've been working out my flat iron! I woke up with 80's hair yesterday...it was not pretty.

Oh wow, big post. I think I'm going to start putting in a TL; DR at the end of these posts.

TL; DR
I missed like 10 days worth of stuff so I will try to get back to personals tomorrow. Recap on my positives: 1. weight was lost 2. lives were not lost 3. i missed you all dearly! 4. many shenanigans were had.

I'm going to go call my mom and see if there's any more news on my Uncle Mike and then start my yummy dinner of veggie pouches and grilled flounder. ttyl-

Good News this also burns cals.! I too need to make more time for the mundane. A load of laundry or dishes helps keep ourselves focused on eating better and exercise. Keep up the good work.

Default God Bless America!

Morning Everyone!
Today I'm going to skip personals and skip bragging about the positive things that I did the day before.

I just want to say "Thank You!" to all the men and women who fought for our great country, to those who lost they're lives and to all they're families.
I will forever hold you in my heart. May God Bless each and everyone of you!

Well yesterday was quite the day in history, wasn't it? Now we hope (and I doubt it) all the rest crawl into a hole and stay there.

I saw my new doctor yesterday and now have so much going through my mind. She seemed concerned with my low carb diet and insisted I just stay within 1200 calories a day and not be so concerned with counting carbs. I just nodded and said, O.K., while in my mind I was saying I think not!
She took a look at my ankle (achilles tendon) and has referred me to an ankle/foot specialist, but agreed with me on my self diagnosis of achilles tendonitis. Her main concern was that if ignored it may tear and that would put me in a cast and then no pool this summer. Again, I think not!
Next she ordered an EKG, said she heard my heart skip once or twice while listening to it. I'm not too concerned because I've had 2 EKG in the past that have come back abnormal or reflecting I may have had a mild heart attack in the near past. Upon further testing nothing was found.
And of course she has ordered all the new patient tests, mammogram, pap, bloodwork, etc... Fun, fun, fun!!!
O.K. Enough about Moi!

Maria- Long time no hear from! What cha been up to girl?

Ink- Sooooooooo happy to see you back. Does summer vacation mean we get more of Ink? Your son is just a handsome young man, even as a Snerd. LOL!

Ags- Yes, I felt yesterday needed to be a day of reflection. A day to pray and thank all the servicemen lost and those that survived. Now we must pray even harder for our men that are still over there and for our country, for I fear retaliation.

Lynn- You still humming that tune? I have this bell that chimes in my Jeep whenever I start my car and every time it goes off my son and I start singing Jingle Bells. It sounds like the first 2 lines... Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells..."

Susan- Where the heck have you been? I miss your rainbowsmiles here on the POSITIVE thread.

Carol- Always love seeing you post on the POSITIVE thread, even if it's just to support something I posted. You coming to Tampa anytime soon? I need a Carol and Ed fix!

Well that's all of you!

Today for me will be filled with errands and a visit with Mom. Gotta sneak her in some ice cream and Werther's candy. I see the ankle/foot specialist tomorrow and then thursday is a mammogram. Hopefully I won't chicken out of the mammogram, it's been way too long. Gosh I hate those things, way too painful.

I am going to have a grand POP day, how about you all!
