Woodgal - the best thing is that we have actual trainers that teach us how to do things right and how to not injure yourself. a lot of local leagues have fitness classes that they hold to keep the skaters in shape that are open to the public. my league has a basic skills class on saturdays (anyone in southern california who wants to come skate it out with us let me know!) whats wonderful about derby is that although some people come naturally to skating, EVERYONE had to start at the bottom. everyone had to learn and they get it when youre struggling. its not like other sports where some people are more athletic than others, everyone had to learn how to do this, no matter when they started. so when the better skaters are out with us they are so encouraging. i strongly recommend it to ANYONE of ANY size. its a great sport for big girls, because being a blocker requires hips.

I assume they describe me as the 'big girl' or 'heavy one'.

But I am working on it. I really am 1,000% READY for this. I just made a committment to myself YESTERDAY that enough is enough.

HERE GOES NOTHING........................................... ....
