Default Exercise videos

I honestly have not exercised in over a year and decided that I want to start with a video (this way I can huff and puff in the privacy of my own home without the neighborhood watching...since I now found myself out of breath just walking to my car). I posted this on the fitness video forum, but decided to see if anyone here had any recommendations as well. Thanks!!!

I'm sorry I can't give you a specific example, but when I first started working out on my living room floor, I chose to follow these post-pregnancy work out videos. I know - it's totally shameful! But, on the other hand, I figured that was OK for me because 1) I was in lousy shape and 2) there was focus on abs which is my main problem. Gotta be able to work that core without dying, you know! At least to start with

So if you feel like you need to start out more easy, I'd totally recommend that

I have the Leslie Sansome (spelling?) video. I LOVE it. It is enough to get your heart rate up, but not to much when you have been not exercising.

I did the Women's Health series, which at first I could only do the warm up section, but it is a good workout. They have several in the series, I like Amy Dixon so I tend to gravitate toward her. She rocks in my opinion. (Women's Health: Perfect Body Workout (2007))

You can also try Yoga, that would tire you out, but get you going as well. I have a Yogo For Weight Loss and do it sometimes, but do love it.

Default exercise video downloads

Congratulations on getting moving. I do exercise videos and what I do is subscribe to an exercise video download service. This way, I get new videos whenever I want them and the price is really good. There are several out there, but I use Workouts On Demand.

Good luck!

wen i first started exercising i got the biggest loser cardio max dvd and consistently did lvl 1...its easy to start out doing modified versions of the workout and working your body into being able to do the more high impact moves. I still do it a year later!

Thank you so much for all of the great advice...now I feel that I have a direction to go in. Hopefully once I get started, I can make it through the first ten minutes!!!

Just wanted to add, I went to Target today and got a box of resistance bands by Gaiam. It comes with a DVD workout, though I got the medium since I've never used bands before, they have light, med, and heavy. They also have other workouts, you can check them out via their web site, some are really gentle. My Yoga DVD came from them as well.

I like Walk Away the Pounds -- this is the easiest video in my opinion.
Sweatin to the Oldies - yes Richard Simmons but its fun!
Biggest Loser DVD - vol 1 I believe -- can be hard but I modify some.

Those are my top recommendations! Good luck.
