People who have lost big numbers
For all the people out there who have lost a huge amount of weight, I'm talking over 100 lbs, How long did it take you?

I lost the first hundred lbs in about a year. The second year I lost about 50 lbs. This third year, which I just finished, I lost about 10 - 15 lbs.

I lost 107 lbs in 14 months - it actually took a little longer to gain 94 of it back! I'd advise against that part - LOL!

Thanks for the replies a year was what I was thinking to lose a 100. My friend said I was insane, I didn't seem to think it was that unheard of.

but be prepared for the doubters, especailly after you lose it. I get eyes rolled at me like I'm going to gain it all back tomorrow because 'I lost it so fast'

I lost 100 pounds in 55 weeks. Then another 15 in a few months. Then a big ole stall... but still, maintaining over 100 pound loss.
Weight loss does slow as you get closer to goal. If you "only" have 100 pounds to lose, it may take longer to get to the end. But if you are consistent you can lose a lot -- and you don't have to starve to do it, either, imo!

It took me 5 1/2 years, give or take, but only because I had given up for about 4 of them.
Hoping my next 100 lbs comes much sooner.

It's taken me sixteen months to lose 121 pounds. It will probably take me as long to lose the last 21! I appreciate others sharing that it was difficult for them towards the end too.

I lost 70 lbs in 10 months - then another 12 months to lose the remaining 30 to reach 100 gone. Then I gained back 25. So now I'm back to it again.

Ick, what nastiness there is in people to make them treat someone like that.

100 lbs, 16 months. (I lost 90 lbs in 12 months.)
It's quite possible to lose 100 lbs in a year, but it doesn't mean that it will happen that way for everyone. As long as you don't feel disappointed in the amount that you do lose within a year
