Default New here and joining the 300+club

Hi
I found this website last night after clicking on a 3FC ticker on another forum.
A little about me;
I'm a mom to 5, our eldest is 13 and our youngest is 4weeks old. I'm British but I've been living in Texas for 2yrs. I used to be a healthy 140lbs before having children and have never lost the babyweight I gain in each pregnancy, so I've been yo-yo dieting and getting progressively fatter for 14yrs.

I reached my heaviest last August and weighed 322lbs then I became pregnant in September and expected the vicious circle to carry on. Instead I ate fairly healthy throughout the pregnancy and weighed 316lbs 2days before I gave birth (so I actually managed to lose during the pregnancy, my daughter was still nearly 8lbs so it didn't affect her.) I weighed 303lbs when I came out of hospital and in the last 3weeks I've gone from 303lbs down to 284lbs (combination of eating healthy and running around after the children.)

I am fed up of being so big so I am going to try to do something about it. I'm 32 and don't want to lose my 30's to being big, like I lost my 20's. It's hard to admit to a bunch of strangers how big I am but I'm hoping there will be less of me as I get to know everyone.

Admitting where you've started from isn't such a bad thing. I mean, we are strangers, so why not? Hope you join in one of the weekly threads and let us get to know you better.

Hello!

I'm another Brit, though I'm in Finland. Originally from Blackpool for all my sins!

Don't feel bad about your starting weight, whats important is that you're doing something about it!

Hi Faith in Me -- I feel the same way, about losing my 20's to weight. I think that is what my motivation might be. I don't want to lose any more of my life to something I TRULY feel like I can change. I just need to keep believing and doing the best I can (with as few "but"s as possible). And keeping to small goals, because I also have a huge amount to lose. So I am focusing at getting to 299. This place is great for motivation and support, I'm here every day reading other people's successes to keep motivation. Good luck!!!!

I've been yoyo-ing again for a few weeks. We went to Dallas in August so we basically lived on fast food for 5days and we've just come back from a weekend in Kansas where I made lots of bad food choices (mostly snacking when we drove).

I've put on 10lbs since the beginning of August so I'm back and determined to not start the whole yoyo-ing thing again. I'm up to 294lbs but its still better than the 322lbs I started at.

Faith -- you CAN do it. Seriously, throw out all the "bad" food at home and stock up on healthy foods! It's a new day, a new week, and time to plan for success!
