Catherine -- I had a real sense of how debilitating anxiety could be as I worked through scuba issues! I think himself owes you --big time!!

Annie -- I hope you find a job better suited to you -- you're right, you don't want to change who you are for it!

The fish was good - basically you sprinkle cod loins with cumin and cayenne and then spicy brown mustard - grill 3 minutes each side.

I only had dijon and spilled the cayenne - will definetely try it on the grill again.

I cut a medium zucchini in half lengthwise - sprayed it with olive oil Pam, seasoned and grilled that too - along with a sliced tomatoe made for a mighty fine dinner - especially the night before WI.

Mizm, you did really well for your Phase 1 !! 12 lbs in two weeks is fantastic! I hope you lose a good sum again when going thru it again.

Heather, I'm glad to hear the legs are feeling better today. I don't realize all that diving has that can effect the body. Take care.

Carol, now we just have fu-fu pretty smelling rabbits running around. Go figure.
I hope you have an awesome WI tomorrow and drop those pounds.

Catherine, I hope you can get yourself settled down to where you can get your thoughts going in the right direction that you need to be in for you trips. Take care and try to rest. I'm glad though that himself is seeing how all this affects you and will be easier on you when he has to take trips. Just hang in there.

Annie, I'm so happy to hear you had a good time on your trip, but too bad not being able to meet Luan. That traffic down there is awful!!! And so is the weather!!!! I had a feeling the collections job wasn't for you. You're way to kind to be bothering people about things like that. But as you said, God has a better job in mind for you, this is just one to get a check coming in. Great job on losing 4 lbs even while on vacation.

Today we spent part of the day moving a bedroom around where my brother's step-son will be sleeping while they're here. I like it better this way anyhow so it was good to get it done. We still have to clean carpets, paint the deck and take all the mini blinds down to clean them really good. I hate to say it, but I haven't done it in the 4 years we've lived in this house. I know, shame on me. I'm one of those people that likes the pressure on before I get something done. I don't know if that's a good trait or now!
Well, I'm off to go watch some tv.
Toodles

Catherine - I have no idea what it must be like to have anxiety cause you this much trouble, but I truly hope that you thoroughly enjoy yourself once you are actually AT the locations and have a little relaxation time before the next flight.

Angels - My poor hubby married a cadillac and now he has an old sports car with lots of dents and deflated tires!!!

Annie - I am definitely looking forward to pictures! I am sorry you didn't get to meet Luan. If Julee, Luan and I are planning to meet we'll have to remember to take traffic into account. I have read quite a few times that you do NOT want to try getting anywhere during peak hours. I remember actually on our last trip that it took us about 3 hours to get from LA to Anaheim in the mid afternoon, but took us less than half that time to get back again really early in the morning.
I hope you find something more suited to you in the work department. I don't think I could work in that sort of job. I tried to do a telemarketing job a long time ago, but I just felt bad all the time interrupting people's free time and trying to pressure them for answers.

Debbie - I think it is really nice of you to make those bunnies smell so sweet. I hope that they appreciate it. Will you be offering them nice warm towels next huh? Sorry... couldn't resist it. I can just picture these rabbits walking in the powder then rubbing it under their armpits. Cute!
I am NOT a good housekeeper. I certainly work better under pressure. I actually feel great when we have visitors coming (quite a rare event) so I have to clean areas of the house that we hardly ever go into. I 'know' that they are dirty/untidy/dusty beforehand, but I just never see the need to clean them. My mum is a fairly fastidious cleaner, so I definitely didn't get my lazy habits from her.

Carol - That fish sounds nice. I probably should vary the way I cook my fish, but I'm not a great fish lover and the way I do it kinda blends nicely with the fish (I use Basa fillets and pour over a mixture of 1/4 cup fat-free Italian dressing, dollop of low-fat Caesar dressing and a dollop of sweet chilli sauce, then microwave it. Sounds disgusting, but tastes delicious.).
I am definitely going to try grilling some zucchini soon. I forgot to get some last weekend. I've heard people talk about grilling eggplant too, but I don't think I've ever had eggplant, so I don't know what that tastes like.

Heather - Sorry to hear about the troubles after your last diving exploits. When are you heading off for your holiday? I didn't realise it was so close that you won't get time to finish getting your diving certification.

Sharon - It really does seem as though you have your fair share of troubles so far this year, so perhaps you need to just shout out that it is someone else's turn now. Maybe someone will be listening and give you a break for once. You deserve to have something special happen in your life and I am hanging out for news that wonderful things have come your way. It is great that your son and his girlfriend weren't hurt, but even better still would have been if they hadn't had the accident in the first place, but had found an envelope with $10,000 dollars inside and had given it to you. That may sound strange, but it happened here a couple of weeks ago and was kinda in the news a bit. The mother handed it in, but perhaps nobody will claim it and she will get it back. SEE!!! Something like that needs to happen to you. Tell your son to start keeping an eye out for interesting looking packages.
Seriously though, I truly hope that things start to look up for you soon. I am sending the most positive thoughts possible your way. I hope that they are reaching you.

Debi - The price of fuel is starting to make us change our behaviours. We have just been able to make a tank of fuel last OVER three weeks, which is something we haven't done in a LOT of years. I am thankful that we don't have lawns to mow, because that would just frustrate me as well. It would be cheaper to buy a goat! Mind you, I don't think I'd be keen on the little 'presents' they left lying around.

Well, my week so far has been OK. I was a little worried last week that my 'illness' was just in my head and perhaps I just didn't want to go to work. Well, after a nice rest over the weekend, other than a lovely relaxing two-hour walk around the river with hubby Sunday morning, I was feeling great yesterday morning and raring to go. After a full day of back-to-back music lessons I was a little tired, but not too bad. Today has been one of those days where I just felt good all day, so hopefully things are back to normal. Only a week and a half and I get two weeks off, so I am sure I can make it that far without any more bugs.

I have a couple of very sore toes after our walk on Sunday. We didn't go very fast, as hubby just wanted to keep it fairly easy. So we did about 10km/6 miles in the two hours. It was a beautiful, if a little cool, morning and LOTS of people were out walking or riding. I forgot my camera, but I'm going to cheat and post some pics we've taken of that walk before. I just have to get them off hubby's computer.

Take care,

Zelma

Good morning Peeps - can you see the bright glow in the middle of the country? That would be me after today's WI - I met my second 10% lost goal by releasing 5.25 pounds. I was hoping to meet it by the 4th of July but I am ecstatic. My only concern is I hope this isn't a pattern I get in - in previous weight loss attempts I have lost big and then gained big every other week. I'll take a loss every week - albeit a small one. But - it is what it is - so long as I stay the course, exercise, make sure to get my water in and stay OP - all of which I have done. I think I also mixed up my menu with some variety this week with different veggies - body loves a change just as much as my taste buds do.

Move your bodies, drink your water, and SMILE.

Hugs,
Carol

I am not a good housekeeper either. Pug fur everywhere! I don't clean things like blinds....I try to tidy up on a regular basis, but company coming is the best motivator! My in-laws will be staying with the dogs when we're gone -- I'll be leaving in mid July for 2 weeks! -- so the house will have to look good then!

I wash it ...fold it and then it lays on the folding table for days. My new pratice is trying to put it away weekly.LOL

Carol_ awesome loss!!!!!!!!!! I knew you could do it and that last weeks gain wasnt real!!! I am so proud of you!!! Keep it up!!!

debbie_ I do hate cleaning miniblinds. I soak them in the tub and if they dont come clean every few years i buy new ones ...mine are cheap at walmart. We are getting the attack of the japanesse bettles now. They are eating the leaves on everything. I have been using sevin again.

heather_ how are the legs today?

Catherine_ Hugs to you...i know how crippling anxiety can be. Hubby has really been struggling with his alot lately. I have only had a few panic attacks in my life but i understand what your going thru. We are here for you in any ways we can help!!

I am up and at least packed. I'm going to have to take a trank, but I'm okay with that. If he doesn't stop apologizing, I'm going to get my rolling pin out.

Annie-You are right. That is not the job for you. Just like I could never represent a rapist. You can't do that job and maintain your center. There will be something better. I thought you would be doing medical records, not calling people who have been slammed with medical bills they can't pay. That's going to be a growing business, but not one you need to be involved in.

Catherine -- Good luck today! My book arrived yesterday -- can't wait to start!

Debi et al -- My legs are fully recovered! I dropped my rental scuba gear off yesterday and right now am planning to finish my certification later this summer -- but probably not until after our trip to Europe. I'm okay with that. If this is the worst thing that happens this summer, I've got nothing to complain about...

Good Morning Ladies,

Catherine: I will be praying for you today. Have a wonderful time. I do know anxiety enough to be on disability for it and I have to say that you are quite brave. I would never ever have gotten on a flight before. Hugs to you and hang tight.

Heather: Glad your legs are better today. Have a wonderful day.

Carol: Your dinner sound yummy. Huge congrats on the -5.25 and getting to you next goal! You are doing so well.

Debbie: Ugh, mini blinds are no fun to clean. lol.

Zelma: Yep, the traffic was awful. My sister lives about 10 minutes from Disneyland and the traffic going there wasn't so bad. We went to a place called Pala, Indian casino on my birthday and the freeway was great going at about noon but coming home around 4ish. UGH! I woldn't have chosen that but my sisters love to gamble. I am a tight wad. lol. I played with $20 and won $200. I cashed it out and kept playing with the same $20. I got very lucky but if I had lost, I would have probably played with another $20 then stopped. I work to hard and my DH works too hard to throw money away like that. Great job walking. I'm glad that you are feeling much better.

Debi: Sorry TOM is being a bad boy. Hopefully you will be feeling better soon.

Well, Off to work. I have been so tired lately. Tonight is my group night and I have missed 2 weeks so I will be going to it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful op, water drinking day.

Blessings,
Annie

Hello my Chickies (and hiding Roosters!),

I rode my bicycle into work today. I am feeling more and more like myself. We had a quickie bad storm go through last night and the power was off for 3 hours. I had a book to read, so it wasn't so bad (yay for book lights!). My exhaustion is lifting, I believe. I haven't been exercising as much this week because of being so darn tired. I did get some veggies from the store and will be cooking some up tonight.

Sharon, I am so glad your son and his gf are just a little bruised and battered and not worse. Cars and items can be replaced, people can't. Hugs to you as you walk to town and garden! I hate it when my hip bothers me, but then I think of those who can't walk and try to focus on other things. Vent away!!

Debi, I dread having to fill up the gas can for the mower. I have honestly skipped a lawn mowing just so I didn't have to use the gas. I used to have an electric mower, but it didn't do as well and I kept running over the cord.. eep! hehe. I should buck up and get a push mower... then I'd be getting exercise and saving gas!! hehe. *stops complaining at that thought* TOM has been a bad boy every month and on time.. geesh. I wish he would go away forevah!

Debbie, oh noes about those baby-powdered bunny butts!! They are devestating your veggies! I keep thinking of that claymation movie "Attack of the WereRabbit". Yay for successful SB!! My mini blinds are horribly dirty and I know Mom will see that first thing when they visit. EEP.. they are coming July 4th weekend. I'd better get cleaning. I'm a horrid housekeeper *sigh*

Mizm, you are doing great on SB too! I love your sweet puppy avatar too

Catherine, careful with the rolling pin, he might like it! eep! hehe. I'm wishing you strength and peace as you travel.

Heather, sorry for the knee issues from kicking. I've done that just snorkling. Over doing it all, ya know?

Angels, thank you for thinking of me! Yay on going camping and still losing!!! That's fabulous! I bet you have 3 weeks of laundry to do now. ick.

Annie, w00h00 about the flying being way better than expected. I'm glad you had a great time with your family. Sorry you didn't get to meet Luan, but now that you won't dread flying due to weight issues you can meet up with her another time! I bet your DH missed you terribly too and is happy you are home safely. Oh, and I know you will get the job that's meant for you. Traveling takes a lot of energy out of you. You'll be your old self soon. Unfortunately, it takes me a couple of weeks to recover when I travel.

GGG, I'm not a fan of fish, but your recipe sounds interesting. I just got some squash, and will be making some tonight. I just like it heavily steamed with onions. OMGosh, 5.25 lbs?! Go girl!

Zelma, I think Debbie needs to fill up a warm pool and provide towels for the sweet wabbits, what do you think? I'm glad you are feeling better. My poor sister teaches and gets everything that goes around the school. Yay for all the walking, but sorry about the sore toes.

Julia, my house never stays clean long either.. not with 2 golden retrievers, a neurotic kitty and a crazy parrot.

Hugs to all,
Ratkity

Zelma, yep, I was gonna hand out the warm towels after their little massages!! That's about the only time I get a good cleaning in is when we have people over too. One bedroom I don't even go into unless someone is coming. I just keep the door closed. I'd rather do yardwork than clean house.
The walk sounds really nice and relaxing and I'm so glad to hear you're feeling so much better. I love those days where ya just feel so good all day. Hope it keeps up for you.

Carol, what a nice loss!!! Did you change your ticker? It's funny how the body reacts to different foods. You're doing really great!

Debi, sometimes I wonder if growing a veggie garden is more trouble than it's worth. Between your beetles, my slugs and bunnies, it's a wonder we get anything out of em.

Annie,Happy belated birthday! wow, $200 at the casino!!! That's great!!!

Today I have to go get bloodwork done because I have a doc's appointment next week. I'm hoping that my insulin levels are still improving. I know they went up some when I wasn't doing too well on losing weight a couple months ago, but since I changed to SB, even though it's been a week, it usually shows improvement. When I first starting losing weight, my eyes improved so much. It's amazing how much diabetes affects the body. Even now with my better eating, my feet don't hurt as much, but when I eat the wrong things, they just throb at night. So here's hoping to everything improving still and the doc will be happy for me and let me go another 6 months without having to see him. Usually it was every 3 months, but since I did so well last time, I got 6 months repreive.
Have a great day!
Debbie

Hello Everyone!

Carol - I'm definitely seeing that glow down here in Texarkana. WTG on that -5.25. I told you that 3 lbs up last week was one of those fluctuations we all experience and not real weight gain. Like Rat I'm not a big fan of fish but I might try your recipe. I might even try it in my George Foreman.

Annie - Congrats on being in the 250s. You are a real inspiration. To repeat what so many others have said, hang in there, I know the right job will come to you. Seems your job efforts are kind of like the princess and the frogs, you may have to kiss a lot of frogs until you find the right one.

Catherine - Good Luck on your flight, hope those tranks kick in well for you.

Sharon - Glad everyone is ok more or less after the car accident and on their way to recovery. Moan away about your knees and hips, etc. I empathize with your pain and also with those financial difficulties, seems like it's always something doesn't it.

Zelma - Happy to hear you are feeling better and more back to normal. Hang in there, that break will be here soon.

Debi - Sorry TOM is not playing nice. I must say it is quite nice when it goes away and never comes back. I don't miss it at all.

Rat - How long ago did you have an electric mower? We (or should I say Toni since I never mow), has one bought last year and it seems to do just as well as the old gas powered one and fortunately she has not yet mowed over the cord haha.

I down my usual 1 this week and I am happy about that. As long as the scale keeps going down I am a happy camper. Seems with me slow and steady will win the race.

Hope everyone is having a great OP, water drinking day.
