Question for those that have lost weight.
I actually read today somewhere that people that lose a large amount of weight change shoe sizes. I know a lot of people that post on this board have already lost a lot (if not all!) of their "extra" weight, and I was just wondering if you could tell me if this happened to you, and if it did, how many sizes the difference was.
Thanks!

Yes, I lost two shoe sizes. Once I began to be able to walk again, it went up one. So I have 3 sizes worth of shoes in my closet.

WHOA!
I thought it would be something like half a size, or maybe even one size.
A small enough difference that you could still wear your old favorites!

I haven't changed shoe sizes in 120 pounds. At least, I don't think so.

I've lost about 70lbs., and have gone down 1/2 a shoe size. Sadly now, I am in between sizes!

I went from 200 to 130 lbs and went from an 8 1/2 - 9 to a 7 1/2 - 8. I also have a very narrow foot now!

When I lost the weight once before, I went from a 10 1/2 to a 9 and from a wide to a medium. It was a huge difference but it didn't really show up until the last 40 pounds or so.

Before experiencing it myself, I never gave feet, shoe sizes, and weight much thought - but after losing 40 lbs, I went from being unable to fit into a size 10, to fitting into a size 10 and a few 9.5 pairs. Wide shoes definitely help, although I think that once I lose the remaining 75 pounds or so, I may no longer need the wide shoes! (fingers crossed!)
I have a feeling I'll end up somewhere around an 8.5 to a 9 after I lose all of my weight, which will mean a 1.0-1.5 drop in size for about 120 lbs.
Hope this helps, good luck!

I started in a 10 and am now down to a 9. That is probably the one part of weight loss I haven't liked. Before, when I was heavier I bought shoes all the time because I could shoe shop with my friends without embarassment, so I had a ton of great shoes. I can still wear them, but they are all too big now to be really comfortable.

I've gone down from an 11 (mens)/12 (womens) down to 10 womens. If you retain fluid you will lose weight in your feet area. It was funny, as I didn't notice the difference until I went to try a new pair of shoes on, and the right one fell off my foot as I tried it on. I went home afterwards and tried on some shoes I haven't worn since summer started, and lo and behold, they are bigger on me.
So, I went from a 12 to a 10 in about 7 or so weeks time, but that's fluid loss, which is great. I haven't had "hot feet" in a while- at night, my feet used to be so hot in bed, I'd get up some nights a take a cool clothe to cool them down.
Before I got this heavy, I was a size 9/9 1/2 womens.

I also lost a shoe size in the first 75ish lbs I lost. It was more because of the width, than the length.
Hugs,

I went from a 6 1/2 to an 8 when I gained all my weight.
My 8's are feeling loose on me now, next time I buy I'll probably be a 7

My feet have always been wide and curse them they are still wide. I did go from wearing a size 11 to a size 9 though. I'm hoping they thin out a little because I hate having wide feet.

I haven't lost anything I can see. It's possible that my feet are a bit slimmer, but my feet and ankles never were very fat. Still a 12W. (Darn Sasquatch feet!)

I went from an 11W to about a 10 regular width. Which is nice, because my mom has ALWAYS made fun of my foot size (in a kind way, of course) - as in "I bought myself some new shoes - you can wear the boxes!" ha ha ha so funny
