Hi Everyone.

Well, it's been quite the week here. Had my garage sale last Friday & Saturday (made about $350), rested & tried to clean the garage Sunday. Monday morning at about 8:30 my 47 year old brother's girlfriend called and said he was being taken by ambulance from an acute care center to a larger hospital because he was having a heart attack. He had a triple bypass that afternoon, and they found lots of other problems. Right now they're treating the heart and in 6 to 8 weeks will address his other problems.

Still reading, but not much time to post lately. Between working & running to see him, I've been pretty worn out by the time I get computer time.

I've been thinking of you all and hope that everyone is doing well.

Charlotte

Oh, CHARLOTTE! I hope he's doing better! Recovery will be a long road, but I hope he has great docs and they can help him regain strength as well as dealing with his other health issues.

Well, I've been committed to my "50 pounds by Christmas" goal. I said it to DH last night on the phone, and he replied cheerfully & innocently "Then you'll weigh the same as me." Sweet, huh? So, can I give 'im a smack? I think next time he's home I'm gonna drag his sorry old butt in onto the scale so I can set a goal for two pounds lighter.

Charlotte: I will be praying for your brother - that's got to be so hard to see him go through all of that.

Val: I can understand the DH mindset - mine weighs 165 pounds SOAKING WET! Can you imagine? I think I weighed that much in grade school!! CAN we lose 50 pounds by Christmas? Hmmmmmmm - I'll try too - been counting calories and it's amazingly easy and I actually enjoy keeping track of them. I'm kind of anal and was a secretary for years and like that kind of stuff - we'll see how it goes. Your farm sounds so awesome. If I live until my dh retires that's our dream - to live in the country with a few animals.

Terri: Thanks for the encouraging words! I was seriously considering the WLS but am DETERMINED this time to do it by counting calories. Just call me chicken!

Luja: Yep, you speak words of wisdom - try again and again and again. Like my dad said yesterday, stick with it this time!!

Hi Lilion! It GREAT to be back!! Thank-you!!

My GREAT niece came for a visit today. She is nearly 3 months old. My 11 year old twin daughters from India are holding her and my sons are looking on!

Have a GREAT week!

Hi to everyone I missed!!

Note: Freezing watermelon individually on a cookie sheet doesn't work!

They got dessicated! Really dried out. Not even good for popping in your mouth and snacking! So, cross that idea off!
