Default 30 Somethings Sunday Chat: 12/3

Morning all!

Had 2nd Pedi-Party last night and it went just as well as the 1st, made lots of $$$, had fun and also had another lady ask if I would do one at her house too! yeah!

Stevi~What kind of preventative is your son on? Alex goes back for a recheck on Fri and Dr said that if he is no longer wheezing, we will try singulair first and go from there. He also told me that if that does not do the job, he will need to be on a steroid preventative....little scared of that! He did say that he would keep him on Zyrtec too and we would likely need the nebulizer from time to time as well.

Fit~Thank you for the well wishes for DH, he is doing better. The machine is virtually silent most of the time, but Unfortunately for me, when he rolls over and moves around, sometimes air will escape from his breathing thingy and it wakes me up much earlier than I really want to be awake. Take this morning for instance......I got in a little late last night and was and even still am a little tired, but the noise woke me up at 4:30am and sleep is over for me now. I am sure that I will be going to bed very early tonight!

Well, I gotta run. Going shopping with a girlfriend today and want to run down to get a newspaper and make my list of sales to hit!
Have a great day!!

Humans are interesting animals.

I look back at my post yesterday and don't understand my thought process from the past week.

I'm not doing well, so it's my fault.
I'm not doing well, so I feel ashamed. I let myself & my friends down.
I'm not doing well, so I run away and hide from people who will support me.

Blah. It's as if I don't want to get better. Don't want to change.
We're a silly animal when we think like that.

I just wish I could change thinking like that.

Just know that I am here, lurking as so many people do when they're not feeling gung-ho. And as Christi said - you can always start again "tomorrow".

:L

Good Morning!!! Wow--such early birds today!!!

Darcy--K has been on Zyrtec for 2 years now and we use albuteral inhaler with mask when she starts wheezing.. I would not want the steroids since that makes them more nuttier than they are..I have a friend on singular/zyrtec combo and it changed her daughters life with the episodes of wheezing..I find if I treat the symptoms immediately we can prevent the more serious..Hope he is better.. Yeah on the party..THat would be fun!!

RX--sounds like U could use a group hug!! Don't blame yourself but just move on...Hope today starts a better week...

Mama--I am on my second cup of coffee...K stood up in bed at 2am and jumped over DH to the floor..My bed is so high and it took forever to calm her down..She dreams and moves all over the bed.(OK--yes she is still with me in bed )

I am having K's 4th birthday party next week(early but dont want MIL to grump around and make me nervous) so I have been doing party bags, candy bar wraps and stuff like that..
Hello to all!!! Off to see the Imagination Movers this afternoon so must get grocery shopping done early..
Have a good one!!!
PS--That is a real tiger with K!! It was the coolest pics..The baby was sleeping cuz she had just drank a bottle..K loved them...

Hi All,

Wow, everyone is up early today! I was up at 5 too, but thankfully managed to get Robby back to sleep! We slept until 8:30, although Peter was up with poor DH, who just wanted some peace and quiet on the sofa, since he got kicked out of the bed.

RR, cool pic! I asked Peter if he wanted a DVD, but he said no...I on the other hand would like one! If you see this before you go, can you get us one? I'll paypal you the cost!

RX, Hang in there! If you need to post about how you're feeling, do so, that's what we're here for! Hope you find a way out of your funk soon.

Darcy, All 4 of us have been on Zyrtec at one point or another. Peter was on Singulair too, but neither of them have needed it in awhile. Glad the parties are going well for you! Do you do manicures too, or just pedicures?

Have a great day all!

i know what my problem is. I've gotten lazy *sighs* I've apparently gained weight this week from the crap i've eaten. I'm so bummed about it....i have a goal i'd like to maintain. I have one week of stress left and i'm back on the treadmill every dang day if i have to.

I'm just so disappointed with myself.

I get news from my MIL. she said my SIL had weight loss surgery. It was supposedly her last option.

The woman DOES NOT TRY to lose weight. 2 years ago she was in and out of the hospital in december 4 times. Pneumonia, congenital heart failure, diabetes. She bragged....had the nerve to BRAG about her 100 lb weight loss in 2 weeks from the meds they quadrupled to get her weight down. At the time I'd been on Atkins and had worked 30 lbs off my body. Worked my butt off. And my 30 lbs gone was NOTHING compared to hers.

So she goes to have this surgery after my MIL says "oh she tried every diet and nothing worked." Right. This is the same woman who walked with an O2 tank and still smoked a pack a day. She doesn't try. I know how she is. She will NOT keep a job, so they had to move the family from Vegas to Morro Bay to live with HER MIL. On top of that, her inlaws pay all the bills, except her med bills, because she's on medi-cal and now receives disability because "she's too obese to work".....the inlaws gave her the house they live in now. We are still renting, and we will until hubby retires I guess.

I have serious issues with people who are 4 years older than me who refuse to be responsible enough to take care of themselves and their kids, and then expects everyone to drop and take care of them. That's the kind of people they are. So everyone drops everything for them.

*sighs*

I'll quit ranting now, nobody really needs to hear it. I'll be here stressing and sewing and hoping I can find some exercise time real dang soon. Hope everyone has a great week

Mornin'.
Dh and I had a late night last night but it was nice to be out with him. He has a HAng over....WUSS! I'm letting him sleep it off as Sundays usually are my only sleep in day. Lil feller tryed to get up @ 4am....I don't think so Lil Sir. He was still whiny so I layed him back down and we stayed til 6. We've made cookies and decorated the tree. Any advice on controling my DAMN CAT with the tree?? LAst year I was so PG by now I got plastic bulbs, garland, and lights only. I was not in the mood or condition to dig out all my stuff plus Rocky the wonder cat was still a kitten. Yeah, he STRIPPED the entire bottom portion of the tree. Gold plastic balls ALL OVER THE HOUSE! Yest I dug out all my stuff. Its Logan's 1st X-mas and its special bUT if The Wonder cat breaks any of my europian (sp?) glass orniments, I'm gonna skin him. He'd make a lovely hat.

DArcy~ DS#1 has been on all of the above, literally. He's now on Advare. Singular didn't do it for him. Zyrtec made him very tired and we'd play the " did you take your Zyrtec today" game. He also has the Albuterol rescue inhaler (of course) but is using it MUCH less now that he's on the Advare. He hasn't used his nebulizer in almost a year. YAY! But as they grow the condition changes, sometimes that leads to out growing it all together other times it just modifys. He definetly not as bad as he was when he was 4-9 That was the worst of it for us. Every Dr. ds has had (3 Peds & 3 Pulminary Specialists) have used the steriods as "emergency only" meds. We have Prednizone on hand at all times. Good Luck!
Holy~ ACK! I'm sorry. How frustrating. Don't let it bug you....takes all kinds ya know. 100lbs in 2 WEEKS ???? Where you just being sarcastic?? MAybe she was water logged??

stevi they quadrupled her lasix meds (water pills i think) and yeah it was 100 lbs in about 3 or 4 weeks if i remember correctly. Apparently she gained the weight back due to her own lack of self control (she's a victim dontcha know so she'd never put it that way) and they HAD to do the surgery for her health. The way I see it, if you're trying to eat right and exercise and get healthier, you don't have to go thru so many drastic options. I'm mostly angry that she's just 4 years older than me, and she acts like she's so helpless because of her weight. I used to have a coworker who was heavier than she is, and Julie went to work EVERY DAY. Even the day I didn't go in because there was too much snow for me to find my car!!! Dr Phil would've kicked her butt. I saw the previews to friday show where he did get on someone like that. Mom watched it and told me all about it. But at least the women on those shows GET HELP and TRY (well one of them at least) without the surgery.

I'm tryin hard to stay positive right now. I know that even with my weight gain set back I have no one to blame but myself. I'm the one controlling what I'm eating, and I'm the one who's making the decisions on what I do during the day and after work. I'd cook more if i weren't so busy but that's what happens, one goal isn't met when something else keeps you distracted. I know better so I should just try harder and stick to what i CAN do this week and not focus on the negatives.

I made an angel well it's a decoration....i'll post them next week.....i'll be happy to make one for you all if you'd like...

Good afternoon. I wanted to stop by and say hello. I don't make it here as often as I should. I hit my first mini goal today and I wanted to share that with everyone!

Holy, I totally don't agree with the surgery. I used to work with a girl who was easily 400 lbs and she went to work every day! but she ate for crap and ended up having the surgery about a year ago from what I hear. She's doing great and is now working out and all but my theory is if she didn't eat they way she did, she'd lose! Another lady I worked with had it and has had nothing but problems since. She's missed more work from complications from the surgery than I think is worth it. One day one of our othe co-workers told her how good she looked and she said Oh no underneath I have all kinds of skin hanging. I asked her if she was working out at all and she said no only the physical therapy I have to do. All I could think was ok you're not working out but you complain about skin?? Whatever! OK Off the now. I just get all riled up when people don't try and they have surgery as a quick fix and I'm working my a$$ off!

RR, my dd was in my bed till whe was 8 and I moved in with dh! Between this and that circumstances with my ex I kept her in my bed. I had this awful paranoia that he'd sneak into our house and steal her and then she was just plain used to it. I know bad mommy. lol So I certainly won't pass judgement! And the man is still in with us. He starts in his bed but always ends up in with us and he's 2. Poor K though!! It's so scary for them when they fall like that. I'm sure she wasn't hurt just scared the poop out of her! I love the pic of her and the tiger! Too cute! We have an indoor water park not too far from us and they have a baby lion, baby tiger, and a joey that you can get your pic taken with. So cute!!

OK I'm off to bed. I only had a small nap and being up since 4:45 is so not working for me right now! TTYL
