HIheart, thanks for asking. Im not 100%, but I am out of the lying still in bed phase. I have been back to exercise and don't feel obliged to eat soup, which I have no patience to make from scratch in the summer so its only canned (which means yummy and salty). Good thing is I don't crave soup in the summer. I am back on plan with the food so hopefully my next weigh in in a week will reflect more what I am hoping for.

Your body retains everything when not feeling well. Its a defense mechanism. That seems incredible bug difference. Scales can range several pounds daily. Id probably weigh twice a week if you can to make sure it starts to go same direction if you can.
Do you drink soda? Try cutting it out of your life. That change alone can bring big differences.

Topsy- I hope you're having a better day! We all have those days we wish we could start over but if we just keep getting back up as soon as we can, we see results

Never too late!
Kiwi I hope your feeling better!
Ive decided I'm stuck in a vortex. Part close to goal, part building muscle and part hungry all the freaking time and my late night eating after work is challenging me. For a while, just eating a small amt of protein was working. I however am a vacuum as of late. I think the stress of starting an earlier shift is messing me up. Im concerned with how it will affect my workout day, and my diet. Im sure it will be fine, but I tend to stress. T minus two weeks!

Haven't checked in for a while but this thread will help me be accountable. I have a feeling this month is gonna be tough since I'm starting it out sick. I never know if it's better for me to rest or workout. I'm gonna only give myself until Saturday to rest. Anyway I only weigh in on Saturdays. Starting weight on June 28th=282. goal weight=275
6/28=282
7/4= 294 how does somebody gain 12 pounds of water weight in 1 week? I presume that is what this is. I've been in bed and eating salty soup, drinking water and powerade for the last couple of days since being sick. This makes me so sad. I guess I have to work extra hard. 275 seems impossible right now. I think I'm gonna cut out my Sunday cheat days this month or something. Somebody please give some insight or support something. I'm feeling very defeated. now 291lbs
7/11: out of town (no scale), but 7/13: 282 woohoo no more sick water weight
7/18: 279
7/25: 284
7/31

*** Nicki, I am feeling much better. Thank you***

Im really starting to feel awful about this. I am having major trouble maintaining the amount of calories that I need to lose weight. I think I started eating more starchy carbs and its ruining me. I've been yoyoing for 6 wks now

Nicki, Schedule changes are the worst. I about 40 of these pounds that I am trying to lose when I went from a regular 8 hr day to a 10 hr day 4 day work week. I was so tire and could not find the energy to make it to the gym. Took me about 9 mos to adjust. Unfortunately, I wasn't working out and still eating like I was. You'll find a way to make the schedule change work

Thanks kiwi, I have a plan but requires support and hubby says he's onboard. I'm more running into diet issues right now. I apparently don't tolerate raw veggies well and the doc is making me cut them out, bu....that's half of what I eat. So now I'm replacing it with junk and it's why my scale is up. The problem is when half my diet options have been pulled ...it's not like you can replace raw veggies with something else.

Are you allowed cooked veggies? I know its takes away some of the nutrients, but there's still fiber to keep you full. Also with the loss of raw veggies that include highly blended veggies? Like could you do whole fruit/veggie smoothies? Having stomach issues is definitely a big hiccup in a weight loss journey or even just proper nutrients journey. Are all veggies out or just certain kinds? My mom and grandmother suffer from diverticulitis so they cant do nuts or seeds. They are able to make accommodations like seeding cucumbers etc. I would talk to your doctor about the possibility of any exceptions.

Just some veggies, but most raw ones are out. Smoothies require sugar to not throw em up. I do ok with some fruit. So I started doing that! and decreased the size of my lunch. Yesterday was a good day, I def found a better balance. Hopefully these adjustments will return me to right direction.
I lost another half inch off my hips and can squat 90 lbs...so there's a bright side!

Congrats AllyG47 on hitting 199.

This hasn't been a great month for weight loss for me, but I started drinking hot green tea again and it seems to help with suppressing my appetite. I've also been alternating with roasted dandelion root detox tea which doesn't seem to do anything by itself except soften stool, and it tastes like dirt.
