Default 30 is the new 20?

Hey y'all! I just turned the big 3-0 on march 14, so I thought I would wander over here, introduce myself, and join in the fun!

I'm a SAHM to two awesome kiddos, I really want another baby so I made the decision to get healthy and lose some weight. I've been on this journey since 10/28/12 and I've lost a bit over 40 lbs. I need to drop another 25lbs before we start ttc.

Turning 30 on Thursday, it just totally dawned on me, I'm a grown up now! That's hilarious to me!!! So is 30 the new 20??? Or is 30 the slippery slope to middle age?! Lol

Hi Mozzy and Happy Birthday!

I just turned 30 as well, and ya know, it's not so bad. It's just a number, and it's all about how you feel. Of course, how we feel depends a lot about what we see in the mirror. For me, that has to do with my weight and fitness goals. So, I would recommend that you not let your age define you, but your health and fitness accomplishments. Birthdays happen once a year, whereas we can achieve our fitness goals daily if we so choose.

Good job losing the pounds you have so far! Keep up the good work, and don't let a number like age get your down, just as you wouldn't let your number of pounds get you down, right?

Welcome to the 30s club!

Happy birthday!

I'm 35. I don't feel at all like a 20 year old, but I feel far from middle aged! So far, I'd say my 30s are my favorite decade

Welcome, and today.. I feel like I am 80! Haha between my Friday personal trainer appointment and walking the 5k yesterday my whole body aches lol. I'm better than when I finished yesterday. Hopefully I'm even better tomorrow since I have an 11 am appointment with my trainer again tomorrow. Today I've done basically nothing except walk the dogs to the gas station... Keeping my fingers crossed!

Honestly, I was feeling fine about my 30's until this year (I turned 33 in January). Now I'm noticing some wrinkles around my eyes and some dark spots on my cheeks. People used to think I was MUCH younger than I am...now people only think I am a few years younger than I am (probably just to be nice). And I am very depressed

Happy Birthday!!!!

I turned 30 last October and I wasn't as bothered about it as everyone I know was. They were all like "it's not so bad..." "30's not THAT old" etc. and I wasn't even bothered lol

I am not that concerned with age. We all live longer these days anyways :P so 30 isn't as old as it used to be! I think I'm at that point where I'm still young enough to act immature but old enough to know better lol

It's not so bad age is just a number! Welcome to the thirty, flirty and fabulous club

The 30s are my favorite yet. I wouldn't say they're the new 20s, thank god! I'm so much smarter and calmer than I was in my 20s, and I'd never go back. AND I'm working on being hotter than I ever was in my 20s, so that helps.

Happy Birthday! Can I say Im jealous? Lol. I turned 30 almost 9 years ago....now that Im almost 40 Im really depressed about the whole situation....Im single (for the last 7 years), I got myself into some real financial trouble and basically lost everything and now am living back at home with my mom in her basement with my dog and two cats, I have a part time job that pays virtually nothing (but can I say I love where I work?), havent been able to find full time work for almost two years now and here I am again over 200 lbs.....oh and I have more wrinkles than I would like. Im hoping that things get better for all of us
