Heartburn. Is it normal?
 

I have had acid reflux for quite some time, but am omn medication for it and it controls it fairly well. I just started IP on Monday (1-7-13) and I have had consistant heartburn everyday. Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me?

I have never tried the IP diet, but the only time I have had heartburn caused by dieting is when I restrict way too much and my calorie intake is really low. Then I had horrible heartburn that wouldn't go away.

I'm not IP but be aware that acid reflux can be caused by food allergies in some cases. You may be allergic to something. I took Prevacid for 9 years due to agonizing acid reflux- only to find out I was allergic to dairy (irony being every time my GERD flared, I drank a big "cooling" glass of milk). I cut the dairy, I stopped having GERD. I stopped the meds and have been med free for 2 years now.
