Give it one week. Try one week without any sweets or high-fat foods, then the withdrawals and cravings will go away. For some people, it's less than a week. If you feel like you're "addicted" to food (like me) then cutting out sugars and fatty foods will help decrease the cravings- the more of these you eat, the bigger your cravings will be.
I, personally, am better off eating none of these at all. One piece of chocolate will leave me craving all sorts of things, whereas if I don't indulge, I don't want them at all.
Don't get me wrong, I still have pleasure foods, but they've changed. I don't need to eat a gallon of ice cream to be happy when I'm off sugar, but can be content with a cup of greek yogurt with fruit.
