That was me--There is the 4 day diet book by Dr. Ian Smith. I think I bought mine online. I did really well the first 4 days...then I strayed from the plan because some social events creeped up on me. Just be sure to plan the 4 days out in advance. I think I'm going to start it up again today and stick as close as I can till the new year. I see a nutrionist on Wed night so I'll see what they suggest.

It is nice to know that people are wanted! I would love to join a 30 something group or a more personal group. Sometimes I wish I had developed more personal relationships on 3FC by now. I think it is such a busy site that it is hard too.

I am 37 and a stay at home mom. I enjoy getting on line throughout the day. I especially like getting on here when I feel like the munchies or something. It is a great distractor for me. Anyway, I'll check in often and try to get to know you ladies.

Is anyone else a stay at home mom?
What type of program is everyone one?
What type of exercise does everyone have?

Hi Stacy,

I'm not a stay at home mom, but am on the computer all day at my desk at work. I just joined 3FC about 2 weeks ago. I was doing The 4 Day Diet by Dr. Ian Smith, but its gotten difficult with the holidays. I lost about 3lbs the first week but haven't moved below 160.5. I post every day and am looking to make some good connections on here. I'm off work two weeks for Christmas and New Years, so I'm hoping to go back to the gym. I'm also scheduled to see a nutrionist tonight. I'm hoping that will help me stay accountable. I'm kind of scared though to be told things I already know, like I eat $hit. My bf said I'll probably be surprised at the food I will be allowed to eat.

Last night was bad with Pasties(ground beef stuffed in a potato pastery) and buffalo wings. Then I just chowed down on a butter bagel. We have a work christmas party today at 2 and I'm sure I'll indulge there too.

Hi all,
I am new here and looking for support in my weight loss journey. I'm 33, with 2 young boys, and I currently work from home. Before having kids I successfully lost 40-some pounds, and I believe a big part of my success was have support of others on another message board. So I'm looking for that again . Anyway, I gained that weight back, plus more, while trying to get pregnant the first time and I'm definitely finding it harder to lose the weight this time around.

I'm doing Weight Watchers and *trying* to get into a workout routine. I love running and my husband is doing P90X so my plan is to alternate those daily. But we'll see how that goes

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Becky

j2ma6lee- thanks for the welcome. I have read the 4 day diet book. It didn't stick for me. In the past I had problems with uncontrolled eating and if I start down a path I have trouble stopping it. I am just eating a very strict diet with low carbs. It is working for me right now. I will be interested to hear about meeting with a nutritionist though. That sounds like a great opportunity. I love going to the gym and go 6 times a week. I love spinning and I work out with a trainer. and do the elliptical a lot.

Becky- nice to meet you. Although I have enjoyed this board since September I just found the 30 something yesterday. I don't do weight watchers... just doesn't work for me... I am just following my own strict program and have really started enjoying it. I am going to start running. My friend and I just decided to do a Rookie triathlon in April. Although I am a great swimmer and do spinning regularly I am a novice runner. I have to condition to a 2 mile run. Whew! other then that I go to a gym to workout.

Hope to hear from ya'll soon!!!!

Stacy - I'd love to do a triathlon someday too! Although I live in a small town so I am not sure how I'd do the training for the swimming part. We don't have an indoor pool and the outside one is only open in the summer .

Last time I lost a chunk of weight I counted calories and also trained for a half marathon. I trained for another half earlier this year and didn't lose any weight, so I think I really need to focus on my eating, it is my biggest challenge. And especially at this time of year .

Hi Ladies!

Welcome to the newcomers!

Confession time. I confess I fell off the wagon and did not want to get back on. But I realize that I need to get back on it.

So this year for Christmas I'm giving myself the best gift I can. I'm getting back on the wagon. Starting tomorrow, clean eating and exercise. Saturday will be my cheat day, a slice of cake for dessert, some cookies but that's all. then on the 26th, it's full steam ahead.

I did finally set a goal weight for myself! 170lbs. That is the weight an endrochonologist/metobolic specialist recomended. I'm tall too, 5'9". Once I get to that goal weight, I'll focus more on weight training.

The good part, since I've been indulging in too many holiday treats, the extra pounds should come off fast since it's food I don't normally eat.

In the new year, I also plan to work on the rest of me. Get more involved in Meetup groups, continue with the online dating I'm doing and know it's okay to be picky and not settle.

So as you can see I'm not waiting for Jan. 1st, I'm starting in the morning.

What are your plans for the after the holiday?

Awesome! I know I am not sure of the swimming at this point. But I was a swimmer through high school and I know once I figure a place out that will be the easiest for me (although hs was 20 years ago.) I am mostly worried about the running. Once I can do a 2 mile run I will worry about the swimming. I started today on the treadmill at the gym. Going between a 3.8 and a 5.0. 5.0 is my good pace but I can only do about .20 of a mile at a time and then rest about the same,

I am so excited to get past the holidays. I can't wait to continue this weight loss journey. I am ALMOST HALF WAY! I will just get back to it. I really want to devote at least 2 hours at the gym everyday. Just not sure it is feasible but I'll try. I really love working out and I am starting to see and feel definition in my muscles and I love that!

I like your plans. online dating sounds fun- i was married before that was available!@

Well I got on the scale this morning. I weighed in @ 189lbs I will say that this is the LAST time I will be at this weight!

I'm not happy with that number, but to move forward I need to know where I am starting.

I did my Christmas weigh in today...

I weighed in at 211.4!!! That's EXACTLY 11 POUNDS lost since I got that infernal scale back in April!

Supper today is an overload of ham, carrots and potatoes... Turkey tomorrow!

Merry Christmas ladies!!!!
Misfit glad to see here!!!

Well I'm starting a "cleanse" tomorrow, minimal to no processed foods. I need to detox my body from all the sweets and junk I've been putting in it. Anyone want to join me and beat the new year rush?
