Just a quick update, ladies! So.. I tried my first 24 hour fast Friday. I made it 20 hours. I had not seen much movement on the scale during the week and was starting to think Intermittent Fasting was not working for me. But, lo and behold, Saturday morning, I hopped on the scale and was 150.8!!!!!!! Holy OMG!!!! So, of course I did a happy dance and plugged in the numbers to see that I had lost almost 2.5 lbs in a week.
Then came Memorial Day weekend and our fabulous Staycation. We rented a hotel room just a couple miles from our house (why leave when you live in the tourist capital of the country? Panama City, Florida ;-) ) We swam and played and yes, I pretty much ate my heart out! I didn't feel badly about it though. I felt like it was healthy to take a break and enjoy my family. My baby girl got in the water for the first time and loved it! My older daughter had to be dragged out of the pool for food and sleep. haha. It was a great weekend.
So, with the drinks and delicious food, I was up a little more than half a pound today. I'm at 151.5. Not bad, considering that's more than a pound down from this time last week.
I'm so stoked to say that I will probably be leaving the 150's this week, if not the next!!!!
Sounds like you ladies are all doing well, sorry not to leave personals, but I'm cheering for each of you!

Way to go mrslynah! Seems like if you can get the details nailed down IF is definitely for you. Glad you had so much fun on your staycation too.

Caramelkitty, you are just leaving us all in your dust.
Congrats to you both for being so close to the 140s!

I'm still hovering around 158. Still eating good, healthy food (though I admit I did have a sliver of cheesecake on Memorial day) in my calorie range. Still with the patience.

Don't be sweetie, I'm so scared that this is going to lead to a plateau. It's gone down so fast (15lb in May) that I'm due for one.

I'm probably still going to be stuck in the 150s and you guys are all gonna zoom by me and go to the 140's.

I'm serious, I have nightmares about it.

The idea of a plateau or stall happening used to scare me too but now that it's currently happening to me I find it's not all that bad. I mean, yeah, it's frustrating and I have my moments of doubt, but it's really not as bad as you think. It's a good time to learn to listen to your body more and to evaluate what it is you really want.

Plus, unless there is something suddenly drastically wrong or out of whack with you(burning way more calories than you're eating, medication that throws you off, thyroid goes kaput, etc) or the world (physics has stomped off and quit) it HAS to start moving again.

That said, I'm not even going to wait for my usual Thursday weigh-in to say I'm at 158.2.

You are completely right!! I read in an article written by a fitness trainer today that if you are battling your last 10-20lb, it's important not to cheat at all?! I'm gonna give that a try and hope for the plateau not to appear, it's so close to summer's official arrival date and I got me some shorts to wear lol

I weighed in at 152.6 this morning but I peaked at the scale this evening and it said 153.6 .... Can it be I'll see the 151's tomorrow? I dunno! Only my scale can tell

Hey beautiful!! I actually weighed in at 151.8 this morning I'm hoping in the next 2-3 days I could see the 140s so I know for sure I'll be on plan for the rest of the summer before I go on vacation in September.

I just recently read an article that a personal trainer had written and he had mentioned that when you are trying to get rid of your last 10-20lb it is important not to cheat, so that's what I started doing, and lo and behold, 15lb down in the month of may. I guess because I slacked off from September to May, it may also be in part water weight, but here's to hoping I get to my goal so I can change it and bring it down to 135...

I also started bike riding an hour a day, and that's been doing it for me. It raises my resting metabolic rate and I can actually feel it. As insane as that makes me sound. I'll take it.

That is really interesting. I am seeing the same thing! I ate whatever I wanted this weekend and did not fast, so of course popped up a pound. Then I stayed on track Tuesday, but yesterday, I derailed a bit. Still fasting till lunch, but then quickly off track with sugar cravings and large portions at dinner. But, lo and behold! This morning... 150.4!!!!!!!!!!!!! O.M.G. Can't even believe it! That means that despite several very high calorie days and no exercise since my weigh in Saturday morning, I am actually down .4 pounds.
Sat. 150.8
Tues. 151.5
Today 150.4

Love it! I think the fasting and unintentional calorie cycling is working for me! :c arrot:

Wow, you guys are full of great news! I'm so excited for you all.

I'm having a "cheat meal" tomorrow. Hoping to have the same sort of result you had, mrslynah.
