Thanks BeachBreeze - that's a lot of good advice there. I don't keep a food journal, but it sounds like a good idea. I have 2 things keeping me accountable - which seems to be the only thing that works for me! That's posting here and a new friend I have who is a personal trainer. She doesn't know that she's my inspiration, but that's okay lol.

I'm down 1.3 pounds (I actually work in kilos so I have to convert for here) in 1 week. Very happy with that considering I haven't exercised yet!

WTG on your 182.6! Although I'm sad because that means you'll be leaving me soon lol.

I was lying in bed this morning BeachBreeze, and I remembered that your suggestion of a food journal wasn't about dieting but my migraines. I had read your post in the afternoon, then posted later in the evening after seeing the page still up and spotting "food journal". Sorry about that! A good idea too, though, thanks.

It's funny how we will do things for a diagnosed health condition (like diabetics that avoid excess sugar or people with high blood pressure avoiding excess salt), but won't for weight loss. Keeping a journal for migraines might help you identify your food (or lack thereof) triggers and avoid headaches, but it will also have the benefit of being a weight loss food journal. Use whatever tactics we can, right?

I'm hanging out at some variation of 180 for the last couple of days. Given how long I was stuck at 185, it will probably be a while at this number too. Oh well.

Did a non-planned quick trip to the grocery store today. That was HARD because I wasn't prepared to be strong if that makes sense. I was still good though! But damn, those chocolates and potato chips looked so yummy! Even today, my husband made cup cakes. I only had 1! Normally I would have had at least 2, probably 3.

So true about the things we do... a few years ago I tried a personal trainer and was talking to a friend (who is also a PT but lives in Canada) about the cost of it and whether it was worth it. She said "if there was a pill on the market that cost $2000 and guaranteed you would slim down just by taking it, people would buy it by the truck load. Shouldn't you feel the same about spending it on a PT?"

Great job on those cupcakes!

Welcome bbpn!

180 and I are getting to know each other WAY too well! Seriously - you can leave any time now! I am hoping a whoosh is coming. I feel like my clothes are fitting differently so the scale should move soon. I went shopping for some new shirts today and bought mediums. I've been able to wear a M in a cotton shirt for awhile, but these were silk blouses for work - no stretch there!

Funny you mention a PT. I signed up for one last week and meet with him tonight for my first session. In my opinion, dollars spent on my health are probably the best spent. I could spend $100/week to eat junk food out at a restaurant twice or I could spend it to meet with a trainer twice a week.

Exactly Beach! Well done. Hope you enjoy it - you'll be out of the 180's in no time!

I've been sick with a cold all week so still no exercise. I'm still dropping but not as fast as I would be. I'm not worried right now - I'm in this for the long haul!

Hi everyone, I am new to this site and pretty excited about it. I'm currently in at 183 after gaining !!7 lbs!! over my two weeks of holidays....Is that even possible? lol
So now I am motivated to start again, would like to get down at least into the 160s. Today I am going to purge my house of all junk food and alchohol (), and prepare my salads for the week. Not as exciting as the lunches I have been eating lately, but we all know we feel so much better when eating healthy, right?
My heaviest I have been was about 205lbs, and lowest was about 155lbs before I got pregnant with my son and was working out with a personal trainer. SOO worth it if you can afford one, which I no longer can, lol.
Anyway, just looking for a good group to help keep me motivated and on track!

Hi Merlot! Welcome!

This is my goodbye post. I hit 179 for two days in a row now, so I am claiming it. Good luck to you and I will see you in the 170 thread in no time!

Hi all!

I've been here at 3FC for a while now, but for some reason I've never posted in the 30-somethings, even though I am one! I thought I'd pop in to CURSE the 180's. I've been stuck at 184 for over a week now. Because my weight was so high to begin with, I was spoiled losing 3 pounds a week and then about 2 pounds a week. Since I've hit Onederland, it's seems more of a battle to lose and I feel stuck. Here's hoping for a WOOSH!

I haven't been recording my weight loss so I figured I should put something - my memory isn't the best!! I started at 189 and am down to 185. I'm pretty happy with that considering it has been done with no exercise! I've had a run in with a bad cold for the past 3 weeks but I'm at about 80% now so I'll get into it this week hopefully!

Default Two days at 189...think I can safely say 180s?

It's been a rough week with travel and sitting in a conference room with a box of donuts and TWO birthday cakes...ugh! Plus out to dinner.

Was smart this time -- packed fiber bars and protein bars in my purse for breakfast (timed late enough so I wouldn't binge on bad stuff) and had salads and soups (as plain as possible) for lunches. No escaping fatty dinners in Wisconsin.

I hit the 5% mark last week (starting weight 201), so I'm really excited to be trucking along at this pace. Hoping I can be slow and steady and get to goal by April/May.

I am almost out of the 180's; 180.5 as of this morning. My first mini-goal is 175. By this time next week I hope to be in the low 170s by leeping my fingers crossed and staying focused.

The hard part about staying focused is eating out with friends, parties, business meals, it's so hard to not overeat. I have a couple of those this week. I'm hoping to make it through by eating some good stuff and no dinner rolls or alcohol.
