What plan is everyone doing???
I am allowing 1200 calories a day. Writing down EVERYTHING I put in my mouth. And this week I am adding in The Biggest Loser 30 Day Jumpstart dvd. This is my plan for now. Just wondering what is working for everyone else.

I count calories or I count ww points. For exercise, I run and try to go to a yoga class once a week. I find writing everything down too overwhelming and so I take it one meal at a time.
Last year I lost 40 lbs and was doing really well at maintaining until this last holiday season. I just jumped off the wagon and gained 10 lbs in a matter of two months. Now I am back on the "diet" and trying to work it off. I have found that if I count points or calories at each meal then I am more mindful of what I put in my mouth.

I tried the South Beach diet before. If you're new to dieting, all the advice out there can be overwhelming. I know that I, for one, really needed someone or something to tell me exactly what I could and couldn't eat. It worked out really well for me! I still recommend it for anyone who is just starting out.
But the strictness of it made me fall off the wagon. There's way too much room to fail!
So now I'm just counting calories. I'm trying to have my weekly average come out to be 1600 for the next two weeks (and if that turns out to be too much, I'll try 1500).

Calorie counting (1800) and exercise.
Nassmom: I know everyone is different, but dropping below 1400 calories a day can have a stalling effect on your weight loss after the 1st couple of weeks. At 5'6 and 234lbs, you're body requires more than that to just run it's basic functions. Not being nosey - just concerned that you may not be on a plan you can stick with for the long haul.
Here's a calorie calculator you might be interested in. http://www.ahealthyme.com/topic/calneed

I count calories (1200-1300) and follow a basic low carb plan: I eat mostly vegetables, lean meats, eggs, nuts (in moderation -- no more than an ounce a day) and sometimes lentils or a grapefruit if I'm feeling super deprived (they tend to smash any cravings I might be experiencing. I also drink teas flavored with stevia because they also help with cravings. My favorite right now is a chocolate spice yerba mate tea -- delicious with a splash of milk and some vanilla stevia.

I count calories. I eat between 1500-1700 calories per day, but never over 1800 and never under 1400. I also am drinking 6-8 8oz. glasses of water per day.

Slim Fast 3-2-1 to jump start (so I don't have to count calories) and then I'll move back to calorie counting, at 1200-1400 a day. I also do cardio 3x a week, strength 2x a week and wear my Shape Ups everywhere

i also count calories, have cut out any food extras (cheese spreads, extra bread, fatty condiments). I try to vary the food I get and the number of times I eat to keep my metabolism on its toes.

I'm doing Weight Watchers (on my own, no meetings). My goal is to get to the gym at least twice a week for cardio and twice a week for strength training, and do my EA Active workout on the Wii on the days I can't get to the gym.

This time around I've started packing a lunch for work with healthy stuff. My only snacks are fruit, veggies or string cheese if I need some protein. No snacking after 9pm unless I am actually tummy-grumbly hungry, and then only something healthy. I quit drinking diet pop more than 1-2x a wee and have upped my water considerably (from none to 24-48 ounces a day)
I'm trying to exercise 48 minutes 5x a week on my WiiFit until it gets later in the year and the gym is less crowded.
I'm also writing down everything I eat, but not counting calories because I tend to get obsessive and then it back fires on me. So far I'm losing 2.5# a week, if I start stalling out with this plan I'll start counting calories but I'd like to avoid it as much as possible.
